Responsibilities: 
Modern Workplace Engineer will be responsible for technical project delivery for customer facing solutions. This can include but is not limited to deployment planning for SharePoint on-premises or SharePoint online, Intranet redesigns, tenant migrations and governance, content evaluation and migration, integration and configuration of Microsoft Teams and OneDrive. In collaboration with project team members understand business goals, determine options, and recommendations to implement collaboration, document management and workflows. The Engineer should understand standard concepts, best practices, and procedures for legacy on-premises collaborative tools as well as M365 tenant environments.

  • Consult with customers to design and implement modern workplace solutions using Microsoft 365 technologies, with a particular focus on SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, and related applications.
  • Lead the migration of on-premises SharePoint environments to SharePoint Online, ensuring seamless transition and minimal disruption to end users.
  • Experience in migration and transformation of Microsoft M365 products such as Exchange, Teams, OneDrive, and configuration of tenant governance.
  • Ability to identify and create policies with Microsoft Purview
  • Design and implement best practices tenant to tenant migration or integrations.
  • Develop and implement governance policies, security controls, and best practices for Microsoft M365 tenants to ensure data protection, compliance, and information security.
  • Configure and customize SharePoint sites, lists, libraries, and workflows to meet business requirements and improve user productivity and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, define project scope, and prioritize deliverables for Modern Workspace for M365 projects and initiatives.
  • Monitor and optimize the performance, availability, and scalability of SharePoint Online environments, identifying and resolving issues proactively.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in modern workplace solutions, particularly in the areas of Microsoft 365.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives to integrate SharePoint Online with other Microsoft and third-party applications, services, and platforms.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to ensure alignment with overall IT strategy, architecture, and standards, and contribute to the continuous improvement of IT processes and practices.
 
Technical skills: 
  • 5 + years of experience designing, implementing, and managing SharePoint environments, in a Microsoft 365 environment.
  • Microsoft 365, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, +other 365 apps.
  • Technical experience implementing SharePoint and operating 365 applications and services.
  • Provide technical expertise, guidance, and support to end users, administrators, and stakeholders on Modern Workspace M365 capabilities, features, and best practices.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 security configurations and best practices in tenant configuration; 365 Security Configurations (ATP, Defender and Security Center).
  • PowerApps and Flow
  • PowerShell
  • Familiarity or expertise in a variety of migration tools like Sharegate, Quest, BitTitan.
