Role Description:

The HR/People Operations (PeOps) Business Partner Associate will immediately become an important contributor to the Oak Street HR Team. S/he will execute a set of responsibilities to ensure effectiveness of a number of human resources functions including but not limited to, recruiting, on-boarding, training, and employee relations, which is core to Oak Street’s success.

Responsibilities:

Under direction, collaboratively manage PeOps activities, as well as assist recruiting, onboarding and educational programs.

  • Partner and liaison between Chicago PeOps central team and local teams

  • In conjunction with Chicago PeOps, collaborate on corrective action measures and ensure consistency of policies and guidelines

  • Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory concerns including: Federal, State, and local laws and regulations related to the Human Resources function such as FLSA, ADA, Civil Rights Act of 1964, and FMLA

  • Enhance the level of employee relations support, by fostering a high level of employee trust, while providing appropriate coaching and advice to location leadership

  • Mitigate risks and the need for third party representation as well as analyze trends and make proactive recommendations.  

  • Schedule and conduct new team member orientation

  • Manage employee recognition programs

  • In tangent with the PeOps Talent Acquisition Team, this person will:

    • Stay abreast of local hiring events, trends, etc.

    • Post job openings internally and externally.

    • Screen candidates (review resumes and perform phone interviews)

    • Coordinate interview process with hiring managers.

  • Other duties as assigned

The role reports to the Director of People Operations

What we’re looking for:

This is a challenging role requiring strong general management and leadership skills. We’re looking for:

  • 2-5 years of progressive experience in human resources with a specialization in employee relations in a multi-unit, geographically diverse healthcare setting

  • PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred

  • 2-4 years HR/Recruitment and training experience (Healthcare industry is a plus)

  • Ability to deal with ambiguity

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Proven planning, priority setting and time management skills

  • Ability to quickly build trusting relationships, gain credibility, and partner with leaders and peers

  • Adhere to the highest degree of professional standards and strict confidentiality in matters that require discretion

  • Proven customer service skills

  • Unimpeachable integrity and maturity

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Flexible, self-starter, able to manage multiple ongoing projects without close supervision in a fast-paced environment

  • A demonstrated team-orientation with all levels of employees

  • Strong MS Excel skill

  • Must have access to a vehicle daily

  • US work authorization
