Title: IT Project Manager

Role Description:

The Technical Project Manager (TPM) manages key IT driven projects that span across multiple departments and understands the intersection of the technologies included in the solution. Technical project management responsibilities include the coordination and completion of projects on time within budget and within scope, as well as being a technical subject matter expert. They oversee all aspects of IT involved, set and coordinate deadlines, monitor and summarize progress of projects, and prepare reports for upper management regarding status of projects.

The successful candidate will work directly with IT department leaders and other team members to ensure deliverables fall within the applicable scope and budget. They will coordinate with other departments to ensure all aspects of each project are compatible and aligned against resources and timelines.

The project manager needs to be familiar with a variety of the concepts, practices and procedures. Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Perform a variety of tasks. Lead and direct the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Enhance department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

  • Able to identify and help remove blockers within the project to facilitate smooth delivery of software

  • Managing initiative/project related risks, issues and escalations in a timely manner

  • Determine and define project scope and objectives

  • Predict resources needed to reach objectives and manage resources in an effective and efficient manner

  • Prepare budget based on scope of work and resource requirements

  • Track project costs in order to meet budget

  • Develop and manage a detailed project schedule and work plan

  • Provide project updates on a consistent basis to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, and progress

  • Understand system dependencies and constraints to facilitate technological topics

  • Be a subject matter expert

  • Utilize industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout entire project execution

  • Monitor progress and make adjustments as needed

  • Measure project performance to identify areas for improvement

Requirements:

  • Strong technical background

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, business, or a related field

  • Minimum of 5 years of project management and related experience

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred

  • Healthcare related knowledge is preferred, not required

  • Proven ability to solve problems creatively

  • Strong familiarity with project management software tools, methodologies, and best practices

  • Experience seeing projects through the full life cycle

  • Excellent analytical skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills and extremely resourceful

  • Proven ability to complete projects according to outlined scope, budget, and timeline

  • US work authorization
