 About the Department

New York Road Runner’s Marketing and Communications department is charged with managing the organization’s creative services, editorial, advertising, PR, pro athlete, broadcast and video, and digital operations. The team’s efforts build upon NYRR’s recent brand initiative and Run for Life platform as the organization seeks to tell the bigger NYRR story of huge positive impact; our ongoing focus on broadening our engagement with runners of all types; our efforts to strengthen our alignment with, and support of, our corporate partners; and our opportunity to unlock the power of our community in supporting our youth- and cause-related efforts.

 

 About the Position

The ideal candidate for this role is a highly organized project manager who has a good understanding of and experience with all aspects of digital marketing: email, organic and paid social, web content, apps, and digital screens. This role will involve coordinating between the digital team’s channel leaders and other stakeholders within the larger organization to manage digital communication primarily around NYRR’s youth- and cause-related efforts.

 

 Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage content development process from start to completion, including building out a calendar with digital channel managers, filing briefs for visual asset creation, oversee tactical execution, and track and analyze performance.
  • Work closely with colleagues on the Youth and Community teams to align on key goals and priorities
  • Responsibility and ownership for key sections of the NYRR website, regular email newsletters, and related social accounts
  • Content curation and management for mobile apps and digital screens during seasonal marquee events

 

 Job Requirements:

 Experience:

  • 3-5 years of digital strategy and project management experience
  • Experience managing digital marketing campaigns with strong knowledge of the benefits of email, social, and web communication channels,

Education & Certifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in Marketing or related discipline is preferred

 Skills and Attributes:

  • Excellent project management skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize multiple simultaneous projects under tight deadlines
  • Strong knowledge of the creative process for digital asset production
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite

  • Familiarity with content management systems and HTML/CSS
  • Familiarity with social media management tools, preferably using Khoros and Later
  • Familiarity with email marketing platforms
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Spanish-language skills a plus

 Other Requirements:

  • Must be able to attend occasional weekend events to oversee social media coverage
  • Passion for the impact of sports (especially running!) on the community, a plus
