Position Summary: |
The NYBG Mertz Library seeks a curious and detail-oriented Circulation Intern to assist with a variety of tasks related to library operations, including shelving, special projects, and patron assistance. This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a specialized botanical library, work alongside experienced librarians and staff, and contribute to the preservation and dissemination of botanical knowledge.
The Library Circulation Intern assists with day-to-day tasks related to public services in a botanical library setting. With focus on reference, circulation, and collection maintenance, will gain hands-on experience assisting a diverse user group that includes outside researchers, NYBG staff members, students, garden members, and members of the public. |

Physical Demands & Work Environment: While performing the duties of this position, the employee is required, at minimum, to sit for extended periods.

Baseline Work Schedule: 21 hours per week. Library hours are Tuesday through Friday, 10am to 5pm.
Payrate: $17 p/hr
