Seasonal Exhibits Assistant

The Seasonal Exhibits Assistant is responsible for assisting with the installation and de-installation of temporary OUTDOOR exhibits in the Everett Children’s Adventure Garden

Additionally, this position supports, through actions and conduct, NYBG’s Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Accessibility initiatives and helps to build and maintain an inclusive organization culture throughout the institution.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Requirements for job include repairing, painting and installing seasonal exhibitions using tools
  • Manual labor is necessary in the installation process
  • Must be able to lift heavy objects
  • Must be able to stand on tall ladders

Requirements:

  • At least a high school degree and related experience in a position requiring the responsibilities and skills for assisting an exhibits technician
  • Prior experience working with installation of exhibitry and signage at informal education facilities
  • Basic carpentry skills and a background in design and art
  • Must be able to lift heavy objects
  • Comfortable working outdoors in all weather
Hourly: $25/hr
