Director Safety Security and Emergency Management

Summary:
Assumes responsibility for the planning, direction, organization, and operationalization of all aspects of the Safety, Security and Emergency / Crisis Management functions to ensure all related initiatives are aligned with recognized best practices and Nuvance Health policy.
Oversees the development, administration, training and implementation of the Hospital�s, environmental safety, security, and crisis (emergency) management plans, policies, services, and programs. Collaborates with federal, state, and local municipal response agencies and clinical leadership to plan, organize, and direct activities surrounding safety, security, and crisis (emergency) planning preparedness initiatives.
Responsibilities:
1. Directs all aspects of security services to ensure a safe and secure environment for patients, employees, and visitors; protects buildings, assets, and premises as assigned.
2. Demonstrates leadership skills required for developing and maintaining an environment which supports service excellence, integrity, and the utmost professional behavior in the Security Department.
3. Maintains and / or develops policies, procedures, plans and organizational structure for response to and recovery from emergencies that are of a magnitude to cause a significant disruption in normal operations.
4. Oversees the day-to-day operations of the Crisis (Emergency) Management Program, and assumes a lead role at major events.
5. Manages and conducts incident response planning, situational awareness, and training regarding disaster preparedness.
6. Ensures that an adequate incident command structure is developed, drilled, and implemented, coordinates communications, emergency notification, and incident response.
7. Conducts annual Hazard Vulnerability Analysis (HVA) with internal and external stakeholders. Conducts an annual security risk assessment, develops, and implements plans to address identified risks.
8. Works with key facility leadership to ensure Hospital Command (HCC) readiness.
9. Ensures appropriate inventory and equipment levels in anticipation of emergency events.
10. Maintain and Model Nuvance Health Values.
11. Demonstrates regular, reliable, and predictable attendance.
12. Performs other duties as required.
