Norwalk Hospital - Radiology Supervisor Opportunity!
Full-Time 40 hours
Monday - Friday 7:30AM - 4:00PM

 Summary:

Oversees the operation of the department modality with staffing, patient education and technical assistance. Maintains workflow through department to ensure patient satisfaction. Oversees and coordinates all department activities.

Responsibilities:

Reviews work schedules and assigns duties to technicians to maintain patient flow, accommodate emergencies and achieve productivity goals. Assists Team Leads with department schedule and daily rotation of 37 technologists. Preceptor for students.
Oversees staff in operation of equipment and provides assistance as necessary.
Recommends personnel actions; training, promotions and disciplinary measures.
Continuously works towards building positive customer relations with patients, physicians, health care services, hospital support divisions and other service lines. Addresses concerns of patients to improve patient satisfaction and inform the department.
Monitors and develops as necessary quality improvement indicators to ensure continuous quality improvement and compliance with patient care standards. Collects and organizes data for monthly and weekly reports. Presents monthly audits to the PI committee.
Works with manager to develop operation and capital budgets - monitors spending through the year.
Coordinates purchase of supplies and equipment. Schedules on-site demonstrations of equipment and assists in the selection of new equipment.
Conducts interim and annual reviews with employees. Addresses individual situations including informal counseling when appropriate and when needed.
Ensures employee compliance of continuing education.
Performs the duties of a staff technologist on a daily basis. Responsible for running a room.
Transports in-patients back to their room when wait time for transport exceeds an acceptable timeframe.
Coordinates patient exams with other Departments (Pulmonary, Endoscopy, etc.). Assists other areas of Radiology. Rotates to the OR and the ED when necessary.
Works with the Chairman of Radiology to rectify issues within the department.
Attends Department meetings (monthly PI, monthly supervisor and department staff meetings).
Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.

Performs other duties as required. 

Required:
Excellent human relation, communications skills. Strong leadership and problem solving skills, good understanding of organizational goals & how departmental goals relate.
ARRT Certified in Radiology
Minimum Experience: three years in Radiology

Desired: Multi-modality (X-ray, CT, MRI, Mammography). ARRT Certified in CT

Working Conditions:

Manual: significant manual skills/motor coord & finger dexterity

Physical Effort: Very Heavy effort. May exert up to 50 lbs. force
