Summary: Provides the supervision necessary for the efficient daily operation of the department, prepares work schedules and provides training for the staff, assures that all sanitation and infection control standards are upheld. Performs floor and carpet care throughout the facility. Population served based on scope of services in the department.
Qualifications:
Education: High School Diploma
Experience: 3-5 years Supervisory
Essential Job Responsibilities:
1. Schedules employees and assigns daily and project work.
2. Provides training and orientation for new employees. Provides ongoing training and in-servicing for all staff
3. Conducts inspections; makes rounds and gives assistance and direction as needed.
4. Answers calls, responds to emergencies.
5. Assures adequate staffing.
6. Strips, waxes and burnishes floors. Shampoos/bonnet cleans carpets.
7. Routinely checks equipment; coordinates repair/maintenance with maintenance supervisor.
8. Keeps employee attendance records and time sheets, payroll.
9. Interviews prospective employees, hires, supervises, and disciplines employees as appropriate.
10. Selects and maintains adequate levels of housekeeping supplies, linen counts and miscellaneous equipment. Assures that staff has equipment and supplies available to perform their assignments.
11. Establish and develop Press Gainey Initiatives.
12. Displays analytical and basic problem solving skills. Communicates problems to manager as appropriate.
13. Follows all time and attendance policies.
14. Attends educational programs provided by the Hospital or those which are outside the Hospital that are related to job responsibilities.
