Medical Physicist - Danbury, CT
Full-time: 40 hours, Monday - Friday, 8:30 am - 5:00 pm
Summary:
Ensures the safe use and delivery of radiation for radiation oncology procedures. Follows applicable guidance and recommendations from national organizations and ensures compliance with State and Federal regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Maintains quality assurance program for all equipment according to National guidelines and State regulations.
- Provides clinical support for radiation oncology procedures.
- Provides technical leadership in Radiation Oncology.
- Manages the safe use, removal, handling, and storage of sealed and unsealed radioactive sources.
- Guest Relations - Demonstrates regard for the dignity and respect of all patients, family members, visitors and hospital personnel as defined in the philosophy of Nuvance Health.
- Promotes a safe and efficient working environment by adhering to hospital and department policies and procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
- Education: Requires a minimum of a Master’s degree in Medical Physics.
- Experience: Requires a minimum of two years of experience in the field of medical physics. Preferred minimum of 5 years of clinical experience.
- License: Must either be licensed as Therapy Medical Physicist or be eligible for licensure per State regulations.
- Must either be certified by the American Board of Radiology (ABR) in Therapeutic Medical Physics or similar certification or be eligible to attain board certification.

Physical Effort: Medium to Heavy effort. May exert up to 35 lbs. force
Physical Environment: Some exposure to dirt, odors, noise, human waste, etc.

Salary Range: $97.72 - $181.48 Hourly, commensurate with experience
