Summary
Provide patient centered inpatient physical therapy across the lifespan (pediatric, adolescent, adult, geriatric) following medically prescribed plans to restore function, reduce pain, treat injuries/disease, and maximize independence and community participation.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver direct inpatient PT services; evaluate patients and develop individualized treatment plans to meet measurable goals.
Manage an assigned inpatient caseload efficiently; prioritize treatments and optimize scheduling.
Perform vestibular, neuromuscular, orthopedic, and mobility interventions using appropriate modalities and equipment; modify treatments based on contraindications and physician consultation.
Use evidence based techniques including gait training, balance retraining, therapeutic exercise, manual therapy, and patient/family education.
Conduct safety checks; inspect and maintain equipment; follow infection control and safety policies.
Accurately document treatment progression, outcomes, patient responses, and charges per departmental standards.
Engage in interdisciplinary communication to coordinate inpatient care and discharge planning; involve families/caregivers as appropriate.
Attend department education, continuing education, and trainings to maintain competency and best practices.

Qualifications
Degree: B.S./M.S./DPT from an accredited physical therapy program.
License: Active New York State PT license or eligible with temporary permit.
Skills: Strong communication, clinical reasoning, problem-solving, manual dexterity; ability to lift/assist patients (up to 50 lbs) and perform physically demanding tasks.
Work environment: Inpatient clinical setting with potential for dirt, noise, and bodily fluids; adherence to safety procedures required.
