Primary Care Physician Opening in Danbury, Connecticut (70 miles from New York City)
Affiliated with Danbury Hospital, Nuvance Health, is seeking a Primary Care Physician for our Danbury Primary Care practice in Danbury, Connecticut. We are located in suburban Fairfield County, just 70 miles from New York City and next to Westchester County in NY. It is our largest primary care facility with close proximity to Danbury Hospital in a highly regarded and well-established practice with limited on call obligations. You will work with 7 physicians and 3 advanced practice provider colleagues. There may be an opportunity for teaching medical students and residents. This practice sees adults only.
This is an employed position with Nuvance Health Medical Practice. We offer a highly competitive total compensation package including base salary, incentive pay, paid time off, CME time and allowance, medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and 401k match. Hiring bonus and relocation stipend may also be available.
The ideal candidate will be a compassionate primary care physician who will provide comprehensive care in a team-based environment to our population of patients. This includes not only caring for acute and chronic conditions but working with multidisciplinary support staff to promote the health and well-being of our entire panel of covered lives. This is a full-time, office-based position providing outpatient services only, utilizing a state-of-the-art Electronic Health Record that is fully integrated across all our hospitals and practice sites.

· Virtual scribes – to reduce charting time and enable clinicians to work top of license with more face-to-face time with their patients
· Daily Management Systems to ensure collaboration and problem solving occurs at the practice level – the clinicians and support staff know how best to solve for complex challenges
Established in 1885, Danbury Hospital is a not-for-profit community hospital providing Greater Danbury area residents convenient access to exceptional care. Danbury Hospital has 371 beds and is a Level II Trauma Center with approximately 70,000 ED visits per year. As a teaching hospital, we are associated with University of Vermont College of Medicine, Ross University, American University of the Caribbean, and Yale School of Medicine. Our Medical Group includes 1000+ employed physicians and advanced practice providers, serving a geographically broad region throughout Western Connecticut and eastern New York.
Danbury, Connecticut, located in the foothills of the Berkshire Mountains and on the border of New York State, is about 70 miles northeast of New York City and 60 miles west of Hartford, CT. As part of the greater NY metropolitan area, the city of Danbury enjoys both proximity to New York City culture and access to a wide array of four-season recreational activities. Home to Western Connecticut State University, Danbury has abundant local historical, cultural, educational, and recreational attractions. The area has highly rated public and private school systems and universities. Boston, New York City, New Haven and Hartford are easily accessible via train, car, or bus.
Job Requirements:
- MD or DO with CT State License, Federal DEA and CT State Controlled Substance Registration
- Successful completion of Internal or Family Medicine Residency but the practice sees Adults only
- Board Certified or Board Eligible
- After-hour coverage – light call volume to physician, shared among multiple providers to decrease call frequency, phone-calls only (after nurse triages first line)

Salary range: $275,000 - $285,000 annually commensurate or relative to experience.
