Norwalk Hospital, part of Nuvance Health, has an excellent opportunity for a full-time, employed Hematologist/Oncologist with interest in solid tumors and hematology at Norwalk, Connecticut. Norwalk is located 50 miles northeast of New York City in suburban Fairfield County. Our long established and busy practice includes five physicians and four Advanced Practitioners. Our office is based in Whittingham Cancer Center within the Norwalk Hospital Campus. Nuvance Health’s Cancer Institute is growing rapidly as we are expanding our clinical trial portfolio and positioning ourselves to be a destination cancer program in this region.
The ideal candidate will be board certified in Hematology and Oncology and have subspecialty training, experience and/or interest in solid tumors and Hematology. Candidates with interest in hematology focus are welcome to apply. New and recent graduates are also welcome to apply. There is some teaching of medicine residents and medical students. We offer a highly competitive compensation package, including base salary plus incentives and allowances for CMEs and Dues expenses as well as relocation.
Nuvance Health has 7 hospitals/cancer centers throughout western Connecticut and southeastern New York and diagnoses approximately 4600 new cancer cases each year. Norwalk has many of the key elements of a comprehensive oncology service line in place, including state-of-the-art radiation oncology and Surgical specialty services in Breast, Thoracic, Gastrointestinal, Gynecologic, Genitourinary Oncology and Hepatobiliary Surgery. Nurse navigation, Genetic counseling and screening are available onsite. There is ample opportunity to pursue research and clinical trials.
Norwalk Hospital has 366 beds and is also a Level II Trauma Center with approximately 50,000 ED visits per year. As a teaching hospital, we are affiliated with the University of Vermont College of Medicine, Ross University, American University of the Caribbean, and Yale School of Medicine. Our employed Medical Group includes 1000+ physicians and advanced practice providers, serving a geographically broad region throughout Western Connecticut and eastern New York.
Norwalk Hospital is ideally situated in Fairfield County, Connecticut, along the Long Island Sound. The city of Norwalk is rich in cultural diversity and offers many venues for 4 season outdoor and indoor recreational activities. There are excellent public and private schools and universities in our area. New York City is easily accessible by car or train. Norwalk Hospital has been a proud part of this community since 1892. New York City is easily accessible via train and car.
