Research Technician - Danbury Hospital Research Lab - Danbury, CT
Description
Summary: Research technician will be responsible for providing critical support to research projects, primarily by executing routine experimental procedures, performing laboratory procedures, examinations and, and performing quality assurance activities.
Responsibilities:
1. Thoroughly document research activities in the lab book as outlined in the approved SOPs.
2. Operates data collection or laboratory equipment and performs initial data analysis and interpretation.
3. Evaluates, recommends, and develops new techniques to assist in overall biomedical research at the Research Institute.
4. Conducts library research and literature searches using various computer systems; assists in editing scientific publications, abstracts and posters.
5. Provides working supervision to junior laboratory staff as needed.
6. Prepares and maintains detailed records, logs and summary reports of all procedures and results including graphs, scientific calculations, and statistical analysis charting.
7. Maintains and Models the Organization's values.
8. Demonstrates regular, reliable and predictable attendance.
9. Performs other duties as required.
Other Information:
Education/Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree and 0-3 years of experience
- Working knowledge of statistics and biological methodologies
- Experience in standard molecular biology/nucleic acid-based protocols, including DNA and RNA Isolation and Purification, PCR, Electrophoresis, ELISA, Western Blotting.
- Basic organizational, communication, and computer skills for simple analyses.
- Displays determination and self - motivation.

Salary Range: $26.48 - $50.49 Hourly
