Location: Northern Dutchess Hospital, Rhinebeck, New York
Schedule: Per Diem – Weekday coverage for PTO/holidays, minimum 1 weekend day per month
Hours: Generally 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM (flexible)
Pay Rate: $67.00 per hour

About the Role
Northern Dutchess Hospital is seeking a Per Diem Physical Therapist to provide care in both the inpatient acute care and inpatient acute rehab units. This position supports patients recovering from injury, disease, or physical disability, helping them regain function and achieve their maximum performance and independence. The role is ideal for new graduates and experienced clinicians looking for flexible scheduling opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate, plan, direct, and administer physical therapy treatments as prescribed by a licensed physician.
- Implement therapeutic interventions to restore function, prevent disability, and improve patient mobility.
- Educate patients on exercises and strategies to enhance recovery and daily functioning.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure quality patient care.
- Maintain accurate documentation of treatments and patient progress.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited physical therapy program (B.S., M.S., or Ph.D.).
- Active New York State Physical Therapist (PT) license.
- Excellent manual dexterity, communication, and patient care skills.
- Able to handle very heavy physical effort, up to 50 lbs.
Working Conditions
- Exposure to noise, odors, human waste, and hospital environment hazards.
- Requires significant manual skills and coordination.
- Involves medium to very heavy physical effort.
