Summary:
Provides analytic and technical support in the delivery and administration of benefit programs.
Responsibilities:
1. Coordination with benefit vendors and third-party administrators. Makes recommendations for the best plan options by working with vendors. Coordinates transfer of data to external contacts for services, premiums and plan administration. Ensures plans run smoothly. Investigates discrepancies and handles non-routine situations.
2. Retirement Plan Administration. Acts as primary employee contact on retirement benefits (pension, 401k, 403b, etc.). Resolves employee questions and concerns. Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements. Manages retirement projects and implements new policies or programs.
3. Reporting. Reports utilizing PeopleSoft or other databases. Performs analyses such as usage, coverage, effectiveness, cost, plan experience, etc. Prepares and files annual health and welfare 5500s. Prepares annual non discrimination testing reports.
4. Education and Training . Designs and distributes materials for benefits orientation, open enrollment, etc. Conducts training sessions for employees on benefit changes or other benefit topics. Presents benefits information at semi-monthly new employee orientation sessions. Provides advice to HR Generalists on benefits issues.
5. Workers Compensation. Manages Workers Compensation claims. Updates and keeps OSHA log current. Works with managers and payroll to resolve any issues. Participates in monthly return to work meetings.
6. Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.
7. Performs other duties as assigned.
Education: HS GRAD/EQUIVALENT
Required:
- Minimum Experience: five years
- Desired: Bachelors degree from an accredited college/university preferred.
- 5-7 years of HR experience with a minimum of 3 years experience in the analysis, design, implementation and administration of benefit programs.
