Master Mechanic - General Maintenance

Summary:
The Master Mechanic - General Maintenance will hold a vital role in the Facilities Department due to the shared help they will provide to all the different trades within the department. Within the plant they will assist in repair work, new equipment installation, inspections, and reporting. They will also be assigned special projects throughout the campus from the Engineering Manager and Director of Engineering. They will also cover open shifts, perform general maintenance throughout all areas of the campus, and will assist as needed for all trades within the department.
Responsibilities:
1. Performing plant and facility repairs on a daily basis by either work orders, dispatch calls, or assigned projects. This includes plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, metal work, grounds work, painting and plastering.
2. Create and fulfill Planned Maintenance schedules for all existing and new equipment and machinery
3. Working to stay up to date with all inspections and record keeping assigned
4. Assisting in Facility and Renovation Departments projects
5. Keeping inventory of materials and equipment for all trades
6. Keeping all Machinery Equipment Rooms clean, properly operational, and inspection ready
7. Rounding Machinery Equipment Rooms and all other areas within the hospital that have any form of machinery to inspect for any issues
8. Creating reports for on-going issues and setting up maintenance plans to properly address the issue
9. Take part in the "Room of The Day" campaign and fix issues in open healthcare rooms when given the opportunity
10. Communicate and work with contractors and vendors for repairs and new equipment ideas for plant and facility operations
11. Perform round keeping
12. Answer all calls from facility dispatcher and respond to alarms from computer systems
Requirements:
- HS diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years of experience in General Maintenance , specially in carpentry, but also including plumbing, HVAC, metal work, grounds work, painting and plastering.

Manual: significant manual skills/motor coord & finger dexterity

Physical Effort: Very Heavy effort. May exert up to 50 lbs. force
Physical Environment: Significant exposure to dirt, odors, noise, human waste, etc.
