Summary:

Oversees, facilitates, coordinates, develops and implements procedures to expedite patient and messenger service activities. Coordinates and facilitates safety activities in accordance with regulatory agencies and accepted industry standards.

Responsibilities:

1. Demonstrates the ability to lead, direct, confident, knowledgeable, customer oriented staff and students aware of & support organizational goals & are self-sufficient during daily operation.
2. Oversees, facilitates, coordinates, develops and implements procedures to expedite all 300 to 350 patient & messenger service activities & transportation function activities per day.
3. Acts as a resource for other areas in regards to the proper use of body mechanics, making suggestions for improvements and assists the department supervisor in providing necessary in-service training 100% of the time.
4. Coordinates and facilitates safety activities in accordance with regulatory agencies & accepted industry standards.
5. Demonstrates and serves as a role model delivering the highest level of quality service & actively participates in department management team efforts & supports & adheres to all organizational & department policies, procedures & improvement initiatives.
6. Assists department supervisor in assessing, researching and making recommendations for Transportation equipment repair & replacement 100% of the time.
7. Assists department supervisor in ensuring that all transportation equipment is properly cleaned and maintained.
8. Effectively communicates with all members of the Unit With Out Walls team, members of other departments, patients and their families.
9. Motivates and assigns all transport staff to days work plan.
10. Assists the department supervisor with Positive or Negative feedback on employees performance.
11. Compiles and maintains daily data of departmental operations.
12. Run reports on the department productive weekly and as assigned.  Analyze the results with the supervisor of the department and recommending improvements based on the data reported.  Creating Charts on excel will be required.
13. Assists in the development of department policies and procedures when requested 100% of the time.
14. Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position. 15. Performs other duties as assigned.

15. Educate staff about all new equipment ordered from our department.

Education: HS GRAD/EQUIVALENT

Other Information:

Required: High School graduate. 
Minimum Experience: three years
Desired: Knowledge of Microsoft Office or similar computer skills. Previous transport experience.
Leadership experience.

Manual: significant manual skills/motor coord & finger dexterity

Occupational: Some occupational risk

Physical Effort: Medium to Heavy effort. May exert up to 35 lbs. force
