Summary:

The Academic Achievement Coach will play a vital role in supporting Career Readiness Academy participants after they have completed the program, ensuring their continued growth and success within the Nuvance Health organization. This position focuses on guiding participants through their academic and professional development, fostering their integration into the healthcare field, and supporting their journey toward career advancement.

Responsibilities:

  •  Post-Program Support: Collaborates with Career Readiness Academy graduates to set and track academic and career goals within Nuvance Health.
  •  Academic Advising: Provides personalized coaching, helping participants navigate educational pathways that align with career goals and the organization's needs.
  • Career Development: Assists participants in identifying internal opportunities, preparing for interviews, and developing skills to enhance career progression within Nuvance Health.
  • Ongoing Mentorship: Offers mentorship, guidance, and resources to ensure graduates maintain momentum in achieving their career and academic goals.
  • Performance Tracking: Regularly assess participant progress and create tailored development plans to address any challenges or obstacles.
  • Collaboration with Departments: Partners with various departments to provide graduates with job-shadowing, internship, or full-time opportunities that align with their career paths.
  • Workforce Readiness: Assists participants in gaining certifications, licenses, or further education necessary for career advancement.
  • Program Feedback: Collects data and feedback on the Career Readiness Academy's impact on graduates' success and provide insights for program improvement.

    Other Information:

    • Bachelor's degree in education, counseling, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
    • 3-5 years of experience in academic advising, career coaching, or a related field.
    • Experience working with diverse populations, including at-risk youth and underrepresented groups.
    • Knowledge of healthcare workforce needs and career pathways within the industry is a plus.
    • Strong communication, interpersonal, and coaching skills.
    • Ability to develop rapport and trust with participants and collaborate with internal departments.
