ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES  

    • Assists in the delivery of patient care   by performing,  , specific patient care tasks per scope of service and as directed by  leadership and/or surgical team.
    • Communicates effectively and frequently with health care team members to share information and solve problems in a positive and result oriented manner.
    • Utilizes available educational materials, programs, literature, and resource personnel for career development and attends mandatory in-services to maintain unit competencies.
    • Adheres to Organization Infection   control practices, and policies and to established safety and security policies, including (2) patient identifiers whenever transporting patients and/or providing any additional patient care
    • Assists with  appropriate tasks in all code situations (i.e. CPR, obtaining equipment, etc.)  under the direction of the Surgical Services Team.
    • Assists with room set ups and clean ups including but not limited to identifying and gathering   appropriate positioning devices, equipment and supplies for the operation/procedure. (i.e. patient beds/tables, power consoles, linen, etc).   
    • Assists the health care teamwith   positioning and transferring the surgical/procedural patient.
    • Assists with maintaining the general cleanliness and appearance of areas on the unit, including but not limited to:
    -Cleans surgical/procedural rooms after each use. 
    -Terminally cleans operating/procedural rooms regularly and per Infection Control policy. 
    -Cleans all equipment required for operations and/or procedures as assigned. 
    -Cleans other areas within the department such as storage areas, hallways, core, Control -desk, workrooms, and any other area deemed necessary. 
     
    • Runs errands within and outside the department and communicates appropriately and efficiently with all parties prior to leaving and upon return.
     
    • Utilizes resources and responds appropriately (i.e. voceras, overhead pages, phone calls, etc.)
     
    JOB QUALIFICATIONS
                Education:      Requires high school diploma or equivalent;
    General knowledge of high school subject matter including sciences
    Simple Medical Procedures/Terminology preferred. BLS   certification required within 90 days of hire date.
