Description
Purpose: The Registered Nurse provides direct patient care that is guided by the American Nurses Association (ANA) scope of practice. A Registered Nurse collaborates with patients, family/significant others, peers, physicians, and other members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team in the delivery of healthcare services to patients. The Registered Nurse assesses the patient’s needs, care plans, implements, and evaluates the medical and nursing regimens in accordance with the hospital and nursing philosophy, policies/procedures, and standards. They demonstrate leadership skills and commitment to professional accountability and growth.
Education and Experience Requirements:
·Graduated from an accredited school of nursing with anAssociate’s Level Degree (required) or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (preferred).
License, Registration, or Certification Requirements:
·Current and unobstructed New York State Registered Nurse (NY Hospitals)
·Current and unobstructed Connecticut Registered Nurse License (CT Hospitals)
·New graduates awaiting licensure at the discretion of the Chief Nursing Officer (CT only)
·American Nurses Association endorsed Certifications or Academy of Medical-Surgical Nurses Certification Preferred (*Based on Certification specialty hours of work requirement).
