Summary:

The AVP for the Cancer Institute in the East market provides strategic and operational leadership and excellence for Nuvance Health's Cancer Institute. The highly visible role includes responsibility for the cancer medical practices, oversight of radiation therapy, chemotherapy infusion services, non-chemotherapy infusion services and ancillary support services. The AVP ensures high-quality care delivery, operational efficiency, financial performance, superior patient experience and timely execution of strategic imperatives.

Responsibilities:

  1. Standardizes workflows and operational processes across regional practices.
  2. Supports practice managers in resolving daily operational challenges.�
  3. Leads space planning and utilization to optimize access and efficiency.�
  4. Facilitates integration between the Cancer Institute and subspecialty services.�
  5. Executes additional duties as needed to support strategic goals�
  6. Contributes to annual budget planning and financial tracking.�
  7. Monitors revenue cycle performance and drive improvements.�
  8. Prepares and distribute performance reports (volume, access, satisfaction).�
  9. Supports achievement of annual net patient revenue goals for subspecialties, in addition to other metrics related to the Cancer Institute annual goals
  10. Leads recruitment, onboarding, and retention of clinical and administrative staff. Manages workforce expansion.
  11. Develops and executes relevant business plans in line with the Cancer Institute's strategy
  12. Foster a collaborative, patient-centered culture.
  13. Serves as a communication bridge between practice teams and regional leadership, especially the hospital presidents in the region
  14. Collaborates with marketing and clinical teams to launch new programs. Identifies opportunities to expand services and improve patient access.�
  15. Participates in strategic planning and regional growth initiatives�
  16. Implements quality improvement initiatives across practices and within the hospitals, if applicable.
  17. Ensures compliance with regulatory, bargaining union and organizational standards.
  18. Champions efforts to enhance patient experience and clinical outcomes.�
  19. Maintains and models the Organization's values.�
  20. Demonstrates regular, reliable and predictable attendance.�
  21. Performs other duties as required.
Education Skills Experience
 
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in healthcare operations, preferably in ambulatory or multispecialty settings
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
  • Proven ability to manage financial and performance metrics
  • Collaborative mindset with a commitment to Nuvance Health’s mission and values
  • MBA preferred
