Norwalk Hospital, affiliated with Nuvance Health is seeking a full-time Emergency Medicine Advance Practice Provider (PA/APRN) for the Emergency Department at Norwalk Hospital in Norwalk, CT. It is an exciting and fast-paced environment working with collegial colleagues. Job Summary:
Emergency Medicine APPs function under the administrative supervision of the Chairman of the Department of Emergency Medicine and the direct supervision of the on-duty Emergency Physician. The EM APPs function as part of an energetic group that helps the emergency department a high functioning and place to work. We take provider wellness seriously and have worked to create a humane schedule with the group. EM APPs are utilized within the Emergency Department and in the Vertical Care similar to Fast Track and are credentialed to perform clinical assessments and procedures independently. They also perform various administrative functions, such as record reviews, laboratory result follow-ups, x-ray follow-ups, EKG follow-ups.
Job Requirements:
- Graduate of an approved Physician Assistant program and/or FNP/ENP training program for APRNs (able to care for full scope of ED patients, pediatrics through geriatrics, without restrictions)
- APRNs will require a collaborative agreement for practice within the ED/EM section
- Current certification by NCCPA, and/or or AACN/ANCC (APRNs)
- CT PA license, and/or APRN license, CT Controlled Substances and Federal DEA Registration
- Current provider certification in ACLS and PALS or obtained within first 6-12 months of hire
- At least 50 hours pertinent CME annually
- Good interpersonal communication skills, work well in a team
- 1+ year’s Emergency Medicine or Urgent Care experience and/or completion of an approved EM Residency/Fellowship Training program for APPs preferred but but new grads are welcome to apply
- Willing to work rotating shifts days, evenings, nights and weekends. Typically, about 13-15 shifts per month.
- Available to take telephone call a few times per month.

Salary Range: $120 - $150k annually commensurate or relative to experience.
