Position at Nuvance Health Med Practice PC

Title: Lab Technician - NHMP Medical Oncology Physicians - Poughkeepsie, NY. Per Diem, 8 hours shifts between 8:00am - 5:00pm, Monday - Friday. Must be flexible with your schedule. Will be needed to work full time hours (roughly 3 - 6 months) weekly to help with coverage, then drop to a true PRN status covering 8 hour shifts as needed - PTO, LOA, etc.

*Required: Phlebotomy Certification (blood draw). High School Diploma/GED.

Summary: Test patient specimens using automated scientific techniques, analyze  and report results in a professional manner.  Demonstrate and apply the theoretical concepts of clinical laboratory medicine using independent judgment and following CMS CLIA guidelines to maintain compliance and certificate.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine and stat testing of patient specimens according to established procedures to ensure timely and accurate results. Report critical results when needed.
  • Perform, document and interpret Quality Control procedures to ensure validity of results.
  • Perform and document routine maintenance and troubleshooting on instruments.
  • Perform phlebotomy duties for timely collection and processing of specimens.
  • Perform Calibration and Proficiency testing needed to provide accurate and precise results.
  • Monitor and stock supplies.
  • Maintain and Model Nuvance Health Foundational Values (Personal, Imaginative, Agile, Connected).
  • Performs other duties as required. 
  • Demonstrates regular, reliable and predictable attendance.

Other Information:

Education Required - High school diploma/GED

Phlebotomy certification required

Salary Range: $24.92 - $46.28 hourly (Pay per years of relative experience)
