Therapy Supervisor

Summary:
Primary responsibility and authority for assisting the Therapy Manager in maintaining the quality of patient care for all Clinical Therapy Services, in accordance with the Agency's Philosophy, Policy and Standards of Clinical Practice, through planning, coordinating, supervising and evaluating the services rendered to patients by direct service staff.
Responsibilities:
1. Manages and coordinates all occupational therapy services provided to patients and families by direct service staff under his/her supervision.
2. Assists the Therapy Manager in assigning priorities to new referrals consistent with Agency Policy and Standards of Clinical practice.
3. Determines a workable case load for staff members using appropriate guides and criteria, such as statistical reports, territory to be covered, complexity of cases, average length of stay, and level of staff expertise.
4. Supervises assigned Occupational Therapy Staff in the delivery of therapy services to patients and families consistent with standards of therapy practice and supervises home health aide staff.
5. Initiates and responds to staff requests for individual and/or group discussions to guide staff in patient/family assessment, problem identification, planning of care, implementing care plans and evaluating services.
6. Evaluates clinical competence of assigned occupational therapy staff. Performs evaluations with staff participation to identify mutual goals and objectives. Provides counsel and discipline when needed.
7. Monitors professional growth of individuals under his/her supervision through record review, supervisory home visits and case conferences.
Required:
Three yearsof job related experience, one must be in home care. Must be an Occupational Therapist. Excellent organizational and communication skills, home health experience, able to juggle mutliple priorities. Three years of job related experience

Desired: Supervisory experience.
