Nutanix (NTNX) is looking for a passionate Architect who will play a critical and pivotal role in driving the sales & customer adoption of Nutanix solutions and products. With the rapid growth Nutanix is achieving, you’ll be our subject matter expert in providing technical expertise to make Nutanix’s customers successful. You’ll have the insight to make the connection between a customer’s specific business problems and Nutanix’s solution, and the customer-facing skills to communicate that connection and vision to a wide variety of technical and executive audiences. As the trusted technical advisor, you’ll not only build demos and execute proofs-of-concept (POC) but also provide consultative assistance on architecture and implementation.

 

The position is a high-impact and high-visibility role, considered to be the pinnacle of Systems Engineering. Success in this role will be demonstrated by your strong technical aptitude and ability to communicate effectively and efficiently.

 

Systems Engineering at Nutanix

Our Systems Engineering organization is made up of 200+ customer-focused technical sales professionals who are responsible for identifying and matching technology opportunities with the customer’s business issues and objectives, as well as channel partner training and enablement. This team also acts in a consultative fashion and is looked to as an expert in their field by the Nutanix sales teams, business partners, and customers.

 

Your Role

  • Maintain deep expertise of Nutanix solutions and products, typically during a new product launch, as well as deep knowledge of competitive products and the technology ecosystem outside of Nutanix​
  • Create and deliver advanced technical product presentations and Proof of Concepts (POC) that are tailored to customer’s needs and ensure high adoption rates​
  • Provide functional expertise, including technical and strategic guidance that shapes customer decisions and drives customer satisfaction, particularly on large strategic opportunities​
  • Qualify leads within emerging technologies and/or new markets by accelerating solution selling​
  • Identify expansion opportunities and communicate insights to SEs or sales staff​
  • Provide expertise during customer conversations on relevant trends in seen as the industry (e.g., competitive landscape, regulatory & market environment), particularly within the specific domain

  

What You’ll Bring

  • Relevant experience in software, networking, or technical software sales with a proven track record of driving customer adoption of technology.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience). 
  • Proficiency in the Nutanix core solutions as well as Portfolio solutions and excellent fundamental understanding of storage, compute, networking, business application requirements.
  • Experience designing and/or selling Private & Hybrid Cloud software-defined Storage solutions using any number industry storage standards such as NAS, SAN, Objects, Volumes, etc.
  • Experience designing and/or selling enterprise storage solutions from NetApp, EMC, Dell, HP, Hitachi, VMware or others
  • Understanding of how storage applies to networking, security, reporting, applications, virtualization, containerization, SaaS, backup & DR, and automation.
  • Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced, ever-adapting environment, working with cross-functional teams and leveraging company resources to drive sales using a combination of top-down and bottom-up tactics.
  • Must be a well-adept communicator and presenter with excellent writing skills and a penchant for organization, constant follow-up, and attention to detail.
  • Thorough understanding of technical discovery and proposal approval processes including the ability to understand customer needs, overcome objections, assist in the development of business cases, and technically close deals.
  • Has the drive to understand both Nutanix as well as competitive technologies in the industry and be able to successfully position against the competition both proactively and re-actively.
  • Excellent communications (written and verbal) and presentation skills
  • Experience training sales and technical personnel on architectures and solutions
  • A Self-Starter. Able to motivate yourself to pursue trainings and additional knowledge to become and/or remain the expert leader for all storage related topics as the industry evolves.
  • Ability to travel when required
