The Opportunity
We are looking for a software engineer to help build enterprise-grade Identity and Access Management (IAM) for Nutanix Hybrid Cloud. You will design and develop scalable microservices, work on distributed systems, and collaborate with various engineering teams to deliver secure and reliable IAM services.
 
About the Team
The Identity and Access Management (IAM) team builds secure, scalable authentication and authorization services that power access across Nutanix Hybrid Cloud product portfolio. The IAM services are deployed across on-prem, cloud, and hybrid environments, ensuring consistent identity & access management at scale. We support deep integrations with multiple internal platforms, playing a key role in delivering unified user experiences. The team’s work directly drives platform security, customer trust, and company growth.
 
Your role

  • Be part of the development team to build a Multi-Tenant IAM solution.

  • Translate requirements and user stories into design specifications and enterprise-grade code.

  • Implement new features and improve existing features.

  • Write and maintain unit tests and integration tests to ensure product reliability and scalability.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in production and non-production environments.

  • Improve performance and scalability of services.

  • Understanding intrinsic details about key distributed design principles like CAP theorem, PACELC etc. and the ability to apply them in virtualized environments.

  • Interact with other teams across the system software stack to clearly communicate and express your technical views and design.

The role involves performing duties requiring the application of professional expertise and the exercise of independent judgment/discretion, creativity, problem-solving, and decision-making in carrying out responsibilities, as applicable to the position. Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience in one of the following programming languages: Go/Python/Java.

  • Hands-on experience with Linux, Kubernetes.

  • Experience with database (SQL, Document-based) and messaging technologies (NATS, Kafka, Pulsar).

  • Familiarity with OS internals, distributed systems and platform services.

  • Experience in building and managing web scale applications.

  • BS/ MS in Computer Science or Engineering.

  • 1-2 years of experience in designing and developing applications is required.

 

Work Arrangement
Hybrid: This role operates in a hybrid capacity, blending the benefits of remote work with the advantages of in-person collaboration. In locations where our workplace policy applies (i.e. San Jose, Durham, Mexico City, Bangalore, Pune, Hoofddorp, Belgrade, Barcelona, Singapore, Sydney and Tokyo), employees are expected to work onsite a minimum of 3 days per week to foster collaboration, team alignment, and access to in-office resources.
