The Emerging Product Specialist (EPS) – DBaaS will play a critical and pivotal role in driving the sales & customer adoption of Nutanix database automation solutions. We are seeking a senior practitioner who combines technical expertise with a keen understanding of how to address the critical business needs of enterprise customers using Nutanix products & services. The EPS is a high-impact, high-visibility role, reporting to the Americas Solutions Architects & Product Specialists Leader.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Be the key technical leader and influencer in shaping customer decisions to buy and adopt Nutanix Era Database-as-a-Service (DBaaS)
  • Serve as a Product Specialist and trusted advisor for both the end customers and field sales teams
  • Present, demonstrate, and help execute proofs of concept for Nutanix Era software and drive customer engagements from early conversations to decision-making evaluations.
  • Design and implement Nutanix Era solutions by leveraging Product experts, Solution Architects, and Nutanix Consulting Services.
  • Own the sales revenue targets for the Nutanix Era software in your assigned region and work alongside field sales teams to grow the Nutanix Era business.
  • Drive sales and adoption through sales-led activities such as targeted account planning, account management, and replicating product success at scale
  • Influence Nutanix Era strategies by providing feedback to sales, marketing, and engineering on current, and future product requirements and sales blockers encountered
  • You will be a thought leader in the DBA and Database space. You lead by participating in internal Nutanix technical communities and the broader industry events and publishing blogs, whitepapers, and reference architectures in your area of expertise.

 
REQUIREMENTS:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in database administration, software architecture or technical sales with a proven track record of driving customer adoption of technology
  • Experience growing products from early adopter to late majority is a plus
  • Experience with MS SQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, SAP HANA, or other virtualized database solution
  • Experience with AWS, Azure or GCP a plus
  • Knowledgeable IT finance fundamentals (ROI/TCO conversations and public cloud cost)
  • Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced, ever-adapting environment, working with cross-functional teams and leveraging company resources to drive sales using a combination of top-down and bottom-up tactics.
  • Must be a well-adept communicator and presenter with excellent writing skills and a penchant for organization, constant follow-up and attention to detail.
  • Thorough understanding of technical discovery and proposal approval processes including ability to understand customer needs, overcome objections, assist in development of business cases and technically close deals.
  • Executive presence, technical depth & breadth, collaborative with a focus on solutions architecture
  • Ability to travel within the United States as required
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
