About the Role

We are seeking a U.S. Immigration Program Specialist to support the hiring and international transfer of candidates & employees requiring U.S. work visas in order to be employed in the United States at Nutanix. This role reports into the Sr. Global Mobility & Immigration Manager and acts as an experienced immigration subject matter expert, strategic partner, and consultant to Talent Acquisition, Business Leaders, and People Business Partners. Global Mobility & Immigration centrally manages global immigration filing in conjunction with Nutanix’s Immigration Law Firm, and ensures cost control, quality, regulatory and compliance, and experience for immigration services.

This role will manage an end-to-end complex portfolio of U.S. immigration projects focusing on process improvements and ensuring an excellent employee experience. You will strive for a frustration-free employee, candidate, and internal stakeholder experience. You will manage critical U.S. immigration programs, and will assist with strategic planning for our growing immigration program. You will act as the single leader for projects that you oversee and share out project updates and program changes with other stakeholders as required. 


  • Provide immigration consultation to recruiters and employees, and help develop strategies to provide timely solutions for hiring
  • Provide guidance with analysis of US immigration matters, identification of process improvements
  • Develop and implement education programs for our U.S. recruiting organization, managers, and other business partners
  • Partner with People Business Partners on specialized projects with a focus on U.S. immigration transaction efficiency, stakeholder education, consultation, and advising, as well as implementing, maintaining, and reporting on immigration policy matters
  • Drive the immigration experience of internal stakeholders by leveraging internal and outsourced partners for transactional activity
  • Demonstrate partnership and collaboration with all levels of internal stakeholders and employees
  • Lead internal reviews or audits of immigration data, processes, and policies
  • Collaborate with global mobility team on projects and initiatives
  • Partner closely with immigration counsel to maintain compliance requirements and manage vendor relationships to provide an outstanding employee experience
  • Provide administration and support of day-to-day operations in partnership with internal partners and external vendors
  • Act as back-up for Global Mobility Manager

About you 

  • You are passionate about immigration and come with 6+ years’ experience working in a role within U.S. immigration, in-house immigration, immigration law firm, mobility program, and/or vendor management. 
  • You have demonstrated expertise in:
    • US Immigration Visas/Process/Compliance, understanding the different US work visa types and requirements
    • The LCA requirements, including posting notices and Public Access Audit File Compliance
    • US Green Card Process and Compliance
    • Vendor Liaison & Management
    • US Immigration Tracking and Reporting
    • OPT Extensions for F1 visa holders
    • Coordination with payroll on FICA Exemption changes and entry into Workday
    • Foreign Worker change of employer requirements
    • Purchase Orders, Billings, & Audits
    • Complex immigration projects and programs, which could include US Visa requirements, Green Card Labor Certification/ PERM, worksite compliance, and contingency planning options for known programs and in response to new policies
  • You are a self-starter who is eager to exceed objectives and take on more responsibility
  • Your eye for detail is superb! You review all US Immigrations for accuracy and are highly organized with audits and high-volume data
  • You have project management experience, driving projects from conception to implementation across multiple disciplines and stakeholders
  • You’re influential in decision-making and can concisely articulate immigration matters to stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • You maintain confidentiality, handle sensitive matters, and exercise independent judgment & discretion while utilizing company practices to determine appropriate action
  • You’re adept at working in a fast-paced environment with a high-volume U.S. Immigration program that delivers a high-touch experience, all while guaranteeing adherence with existing and changing laws and regulations.
  • You think critically, proactively analyze data and risks, and make decisions
  • You earned a Bachelor’s Degree
