Big Data Architect

We are looking for an experienced technology leader in building, scaling and evolving data platform solutions to collect, curate, consolidate and consume data from disparate sources which comprise data of different shapes and sizes, volume, variety and velocity. Our charter is to make enterprise data available to internal business for analytics services, machine learning and to a number of internal/external applications in near real time and to scale. Successful candidate will work with a team of passionate and world-class engineers, to build, test and launch managed data services running on this platform.


Experienced technology leader with a minimum of 12+ years of software development experience with deep technology expertise in the following areas


        Architecture, Design, Development, Deployment and Evolution of large-scale data platform(s)

        Deep knowledge and hands-on experience on big data and cloud computing technologies including Hadoop, Spark, Hive, HBase, etc.
        Must have experience provisioning and spinning up AWS clusters; building scalable production systems 

        Must have hands on experience with real time streaming processing as well as high volume batch processing using AWS and on-prem stack.
        Must have technical knowledge of AWS (Glue, EMR, Lambda, streaming platforms, data lakes patterns and security setup. 

        Must have hands-on experience with data compute, storage, and security components and using AWS platform and on-prem stack.

        Experience in streaming platforms (Kafka) and messaging systems

        Expertise in both SQL (PostgreSQL, Oracle) & NoSQL (Cassandra, MongoDB, Elasticsearch) technologies

       Must have extensive hands-on design and high performance/quality coding experience using languages like Python, Java or Scala

        Experience with Web Services (REST/ SOAP) and APIs

        Experience on application/platform instrumentation, measurement, log data processing, monitoring and observability

        Good understanding of various components of any one of cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, Azure

        Technical background in data with deep understanding of issues in multiple areas such as data acquisition and processing, data management, distributed processing, and high availability is required

        Experience in migrating workload from on-prem to cloud, cloud to cloud and cloud. To on-prem migrations   

Required Non-Technical/ Behavioral competencies

        Familiarity in Agile methodology and Scrum processes

        Organized, develop and drive process for system users

        Excellent verbal and written communication, technical articulation, listening and presentation skills

        Proven analytical and problem-solving skills

        Demonstrated effective task prioritization, time management and internal/external stakeholder management skills

        Quick learner, self-starter, go-getter and a team player

        Experience of working under stringent deadlines in a Matrix organization structure
