The Opportunity

The Nutanix Unified Storage (NUS) provides data services and security across Nutanix Cloud Platform including structured data (files), unstructured data (objects), and block storage. The Engineering team is distributed across the US and India.
Nutanix is looking for a Software Development Engineer in Test to be a part of the Files team based in India. Files Storage provides a scale-out distributed file storage solution supporting SMB and NFS on top of Nutanix AOS. Virtual file server controllers are deployed across nodes within an existing cluster, or on a dedicated file storage cluster. Nodes are designed to be self-contained and share nothing, eliminating single points of failure. Files Storage architecture scales out easily by adding virtual resources and can be deployed across a variety of environments including data-centres, remote and branch offices, edge locations, and clouds.

About the Team
At Nutanix, as part of the Files QA team, you will be joining a group of 25 team members based in India, with additional members located in the US. The team thrives on collaboration, innovation, and a shared commitment to achieving success together. You will report to the Director of Engineering, who provides leadership and guidance to drive the team towards excellence. In terms of work setup, Nutanix follows a hybrid model, requiring employees to be in the office 2–3 days a week. This setup allows for a balance between in-person collaboration and remote work flexibility, ensuring a dynamic and adaptable work environment.
Your Role
- Automating test cases and executing as part of new feature testing, and enabling automated regression runs for subsequent releases.
- Experience of 6 - 10 years in automation.
- Working closely with the Development team to ensure the feature is easy-to-use, debug-able.
- Actively participate in requirements, functional and design aspects of new features & enhancements.
- Writing test plans and approaches that suit customer deployments and coming up with detailed test plans for the functionality would be an added advantage.
What You Will Bring
- Good programming skills and experience in Python.
- Good knowledge of test automation using test frameworks.
- Experience with writing and debugging automation tests for complex enterprise software.
- Experience with troubleshooting and debugging in Linux or Windows environments.
- Bachelors in computer science or related field with 7–14 yrs of experience.
- Prior Experience with NFS, SMB protocols.
- Prior Experience on Cloud Platforms AWS / Azure will be an added advantage.
- Familiar with Data Center technologies (Storage NAS/HCI, Networking,
Virtualization. - Experience with Microsoft technologies such as Active Directory, DNS.
- Familiar with Distributed system concepts, HA, Clustered environments.
- Experience working on cloud.
