The Opportunity

As the Director of Japan Marketing at Nutanix, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping our growth strategy for the Japanese market, driving all elements of the marketing mix, including demand generation, PR  digital and Partner marketing as well as leading the local marketing team. You’ll work closely with your local sales and cross-functional teams to develop the strategy and execute programs that deliver measurable business outcomes and optimize our marketing efficiency. With your expertise in demand generation, ABM, and digital marketing, you’ll have the opportunity to directly impact our pipeline and bookings that fuel our local expansion.


About the Team

As a part of Nutanix’s Global Demand Center, you’ll join a skilled and diverse team of marketing professionals focused on driving bookings and scaling our demand generation initiatives. The Japan Marketing team is working to execute high-impact strategies that accelerate pipeline and bookings growth. Reporting directly to the VP APJ Marketing, and working closely with the Japan cross functional teams, you’ll be part of a results-oriented culture that values creativity, innovation, and cross-functional collaboration.


Your Role

  • Lead all of the marketing efforts for the Japan Region
  • Leverage a data driven approach build the marketing strategy, then execute marketing programs that directly impact pipeline and Revenue.
  • Build a high performing engaged marketing team
  • Build and maintain relationships with the local sales teams, channel partners, and technology alliance partners. Manage the development of marketing plans with sales teams and top channel partners on a quarterly basis and  measure results.
  • Understand our target audiences, their pain points, spending profiles, key projects, and competing solutions. Be able to feedback to Corporate and align global campaigns to fit regional needs.
  • Lead localization efforts , execute demand generation and ABX programs that build pipeline.
  • Coordinate and manage all regional events, including seminars, tradeshows, networking events, and user group meetings.
  • Work with APJ and Corporate resources on PR and AR activities for Japan.
  • Measure ROI for all activities and analyze the sales funnel to identify areas for continual improvement.
  • Identify and develop customer success stories that can be used as public references and case studies.

What You Will Bring

You can develop a strategy and marketing plan for the Japanese business, focus on the execution to ensure that results are delivered and  you are comfortable working hands on and participating in events and presentations.

  • 10+ years experience in marketing. You have an “own the business” mentality
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field – or equivalent work experience.
  • Solid understanding of SaaS, datacenter infrastructure and  Cloud Native markets and what it takes to drive demand.
  • Building and maintaining a high performing engaged marketing team that is empowered to innovate and take risks
  • Extensive experience in localizing and executing global integrated campaigns, with a demonstrated track record of exceptional achievement in field marketing for high-tech B2B companies.
  • You are a good story teller and understand how  to generate a response to your marketing
  • Deep understanding of all modern demand generation channels and when to deploy each type of activity for maximum effectiveness.
  • Experience with Salesforce.com and marketing automation solutions such as Marketo.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to perform in fast-paced and high-energy environment
