The Opportunity
We are looking for a Software Development Engineer in Test (Automation Engineer) with extensive experience in automation development, strategy, and testing skills to be part of our dynamic and growing Data Lens Engineering Team.
About the Team
Team Name: Nutanix Data Lens™ team focuses on developing the SaaS-based data security solution that helps in assessing and mitigating unstructured data security risks. The team comprises talented individuals located in both India and the US. They are committed to delivering high-quality functionalities and fostering a collaborative environment where innovation is encouraged and failures are seen as opportunities for growth. You will report to Paresh Lohakare, Manager, Engineering, who brings over 15 years of experience in the storage, VDI, and Data Analytics domain. Paresh leads the Data Lens and File Analytics QA Team at Nutanix, working closely with global leaders within the organization. His expertise in building teams and running Quality Engineering functions adds value to the team's success.

You will have the flexibility to collaborate with team members while also having the freedom to work independently and contribute your insights. The expectation is to be in the office 2–3 days a week.
Your Role
- Actively participate in requirements, functional and design aspects of new features & enhancements.
- Design detailed test plans and approaches.
- Automating test cases and executing as part of new feature testing, and enabling automated regression runs for subsequent releases.
- Working closely with the Development team, and a Documentation team to ensure the feature is ease-to-use, and debug.
- Define the quality of the deliverables and influence the delivery of quality.
- Analyzing failures and resolving root causes, filing defects in the Defect Tracking System and driving them to closure.
- Engage with customers, partners, and support to provide world-class software and support experience to end customers
What You Will Bring
- Good programming skills using Python as a programming language.
- Good knowledge of test automation and test frameworks.
- Experience with writing and debugging automation tests for complex enterprise software.
- Experience in big data analytics and data pipeline testing.
- Good exposure to AWS & its managed services and infrastructure.
- Familiar with Data Center technologies (Storage(SAN/NAS/HCI), Networking, Virtualization)
- Experience with troubleshooting and debugging in Linux or Windows environments.
- Bachelors in Computer Science or related field with 1.5-3 year’s experience.
Nice to Have:
- Prior Experience with NFS, SMB protocols.
- Experience with Hypervisors like ESXi, KVM, Hyper-V.
- Familiar with Distributed system concepts, Clustered environments.
- Exposer to CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Docker, Ansible, Terraform.
- Familiar with technologies like - Kafka, Elasticsearch, Snowflake.
