The Opportunity
We have an exciting career opportunity for an Employee Relations Advisor to join our Global Employee Relations team to support our growing India workforce. This role is ideal for a thoughtful and trusted ER professional experienced in conflict management and performance consulting.  In this key role you will apply your expertise in employee relations best practices, workplace investigations, and performance management - combined with strong interpersonal and analytical skills - to help leaders and employees navigate complex situations with fairness, consistency and empathy. 
You’ll collaborate closely with our talented People Business Partners, highly qualified Employment Counsel, Compliance, and business leaders to foster a positive and ethical workplace culture that reflects Nutanix core values and culture principles. This role is based in-office and will provide on-the-ground partnership for India-based teams, ensuring alignment with local workplace expectations and company standards.  
About the Team
The Global Employee Relations team is a passionate group of professionals dedicated to maintaining a positive and productive work environment across Nutanix’s global footprint of ~7,800 employees. In the Asia Pacific & Japan (APJ) region, we support over 650 employees across 12 countries.
We work as a collaborative, connected team that values knowledge-sharing, continuous learning, and mutual support. You will report directly to the Senior Director & Global Head of Employee Relations, based in San Jose, California, and partner closely with colleagues worldwide to drive consistency, fairness, and impact in our ER practices.
 
Your Role
In this role, you will provide trusted, hands-on ER partnership and guidance to managers, employees and People Business Partners across India. Your work will balance policy compliance, conflict resolution and alignment with Nutanix’s culture and leadership principles. 
  • Employee Relations & Case Management 
    • Partner with leaders, People Business Partners, Legal, and other stakeholders to address performance, conduct and workplace concerns in a fair, balanced, and compliant manner.  
    • Conduct workplace reviews and investigations independently or in partnership with senior ER colleagues, ensuring thorough documentation and sound recommendations.
    • Provide on-site ER support to leaders and employees, ensuring alignment with workplace expectations, policies and organizational culture. 
    • Employ trust, integrity and discretion in influencing decisions and guiding outcomes. 
  • Conflict Management & Advisory 
    • Apply strong conflict management and resolution skills to help employees and managers navigate challenging situations.
    • Act as a trusted advisor who can diffuse tension, facilitate dialogue, and work toward constructive resolution. 
    • Offer coaching and consultative guidance to leaders on applying Nutanix policies and core values, and promoting a positive employee experience.
  • Data & Insights 
    • Serve as an ER data subject matter expert, optimizing ER tools, dashboards, and reporting. 
    • Analyze ER trends and recommend data-driven process and program improvements. 
  • Programs & Enablement 
    • Design and deliver training, presentations, and workshops. 
    • Support global and regional ER programs, such as implementation of case management systems, process enhancements, and compliance initiatives. 
    • Lead or contribute to global ER initiatives and projects to enhance team effectiveness, scalability, and employee experience.

What You Will Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree or local undergraduate equivalent required in a related field.
  • 10+ years experience in either Employee Relations, Human Resources or a related HR discipline within a high-tech or fast-paced environment.
  • Working knowledge of employment law and HR practices in India is required; experience across other Asia region countries is a plus.
  • Proven ability to navigate sensitive and high-impact cases with sound judgment, discretion and professionalism. Must also have excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience presenting to and advising senior leaders.
  • Strong interpersonal awareness and consulting skills, with the ability to build trust, “read the room,” and adapt communication style to influence effectively. 
  • Sound judgment and discretion, with a demonstrated passion for resolving conflict and fostering productive relationships at all levels of the organization, including the ability to instill a sense of fairness and empathy. 
  • How we work

    This role operates in a hybrid capacity, blending the benefits of remote work with the advantages of in-person collaboration. For most roles, that will mean coming into an office a minimum of 3 days per week, however certain roles and/or teams may require more frequent in-office presence. Additional team-specific guidance and norms will be provided by your manager.
