Nutanix Database Service (NDB) is developed by a nimble, agile team focused on delivering an enterprise-grade Database-as-a-Service (DBaaS) platform. Designed to streamline database operations at scale, NDB provides a unified UI and REST API interface across popular open-source and proprietary database engines. By unifying management across an enterprise's entire database landscape, NDB drives operational efficiency, agility, scalability, and cost reduction throughout the full lifecycle, from initial provisioning and high availability to patching, scaling, upgrades, backup, recovery, and high-performance database cloning.We are currently advancing into the next phase of NDB’s enterprise growth. Our primary focus is driving cloud-native, cloud-scale database deployments while broadening support to include vector and in-memory databases, alongside bringing autonomous management features to existing database platforms.

You will encounter a wealth of engaging and complex engineering challenges as part of the NDB team. We are looking for a talented Software Developer to join us.

Your Role

  • Design, architect, and construct key software modules for an enterprise-grade multi-cloud Database-as-a-Service solution.
  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of developer use cases across diverse database platforms, using these insights to architect innovative solutions.
  • Design intuitive and user-friendly capabilities tailored to customer needs.
  • Partner across engineering, quality assurance, product management, and technical documentation teams to ship high-grade software in a dynamic setting.
  • Engage with a focused engineering pod to drive initiatives across the full secure software development lifecycle, from concept through production release.
  • Apply systematic design principles to construct robust, performant, and scalable architectures prepared for future growth.

What will you bring - 

  • Experience working with Microservices, Kubernetes, Cloud Native applications.
  • Experience working with enterprise software development in at least one of the development area: (REST APIs including OpenAPIs, Workflow Management, Orchestration, Autonomous Database management).
  • Love of programming and rock-solid in one or more languages: Go, Java or C++.
  • Must be able to work with AI to write efficient code with high quality along with effective code reviews.
  • Experience with object oriented concepts and design is required.
  • Bachelor's degree/ Master's degree  in Computer Science or related field required with 5+ years experience.
  • Practical experience with database management software is a plus.
Work Arrangement
Hybrid: This role operates in a hybrid capacity, blending the benefits of remote work with the advantages of in-person collaboration. In locations where our workplace policy applies (i.e. San Jose, Durham, Mexico City, Bangalore, Pune, Hoofddorp, Belgrade, Barcelona, Singapore, Sydney and Tokyo), employees are expected to work onsite a minimum of 3 days per week to foster collaboration, team alignment, and access to in-office resources. The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between USD $147,000 and USD $294,000 per year.
However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
 
If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
