This is a 12-week paid internship working a minimum of 3 days per week from our San Jose, CA office.  The internship will start in May 2026.

About the Team


The Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team within Nutanix is a high energy team providing finance partnership to business leaders across all functions. This is a great opportunity to be a part of a high impact team in a rapidly growing organization. We provide analysis to support strategic decisions, conduct financial reviews of a wide range of business issues and manage financial processes such as planning, forecasting, reporting and tracking performance.

We are seeking a highly motivated individual with exceptional analytical skills to join us as a Financial Analyst supporting our teams. You will help to build and manage existing reporting templates for operating costs, capex and headcount. More tactically, you will participate in short and long-range planning and other various projects. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, organized, and have considerable experience compiling and analyzing a variety of metrics. 


Your Role

  • Collaborate with the Accounting team to prepare journal entries and accruals as part of the monthly close process
  • Month-End Close Process Improvement
    • Document and map the existing close process.
    • Identify bottlenecks or manual steps that could be automated.
    • Suggest workflow or checklist improvements.
  • Internal Control Review in NetSuite
    • Document user roles and permissions (use the “Role Permissions Audit” report).
    • Identify excessive access (e.g., users with both create and approve rights).
    • Create a segregation of duties (SoD) risk matrix
  •   Participation in Ad hoc projects and financial analysis to support business decisions, as needed
  •   Various projects related to opex, capex and headcount forecasting, templates, and dashboards.

  • You are pursuing a Bachelor's in Finance , Accounting or a related field 
  • Highly self-motivated and willing to take personal ownership of all project tasks and deliverables
  • Detail-oriented and able to work well under pressure and accustomed to project work with tight deadlines.
  • Creative, self-starter, quick thinker and dedicated individual who is eager to put his/her stamp on this job role.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated intellectual and analytical rigor.
  • Team-oriented, collaborative, diplomatic and flexible.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Work Arrangement

Hybrid: This role operates in a hybrid capacity, blending the benefits of remote work with the advantages of in-person collaboration. In locations where our workplace policy applies (i.e. San Jose, Durham, Mexico City, Bangalore, Pune, Hoofddorp, Belgrade, Barcelona, Singapore, Sydney and Tokyo), employees are expected to work onsite a minimum of 3 days per week to foster collaboration, team alignment, and access to in-office resources. The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between USD $ 24 and USD $ 31 per hour.

However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
