The Opportunity:

Nutanix Validated Designs (NVDs) certify Nutanix Solutions cross-product interoperability at scale. To accomplish this, Solutions Automation Engineers develop programmatic environmental and test plan validations for Solutions Architects and Q/A Engineering.

The Solutions Automation team is looking for individuals who are in sync with our values and are passionate about systems software, platform automation, and infrastructure as code. This is an opportunity to build and develop software and workflows that empower Nutanix’ largest customers implementing product solutions architectures. You will get a chance to apply and broaden your expertise in software development, infrastructure as code, workflow automation systems, virtualisation, distributed systems, and cloud services to name a few.

Your Role:

  • Design and develop software for automating solutions.

  • Plan, design, and build new solutions offerings around automation and orchestration for customer’s private and hybrid cloud environments.

  • Work closely with solutions architects and program management teams to develop high-quality solutions in an agile development environment.

  • Empowered to test the quality of the deliverables and influence the delivery of quality products/features - performance, scaling out and resiliency of distributed cloud systems.

  • Designing high level test approaches and implementing detailed test plans based on the requirements to deliver high quality (usability, scale, performance, secure) products in a fast-paced environment.

  • Automating test cases written and executed as part of new feature testing, and enabling automated regression runs for subsequent releases. 

  • Analysing failures and determining root cause, filing defects, and driving them to closure.

  • Engage with customers and support when needed to solve production issues.

What you'll bring:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field required.

  • Experience in Software Development or Test Automation in one of the following programming languages: Python/Golang/Java (Python preferred).

  • Strong fundamentals in Object-Oriented Programming, Algorithms, Data Structures, and Problem Solving.

  • Experience testing a “systems” product (file systems, storage systems, databases, operating systems, hypervisors, or networking)

  • Experience working with virtualization technologies like KVM, VMware, Hyper-V, Xen.

  • Understanding of configuration management tools such as Chef/Puppet/Vagrant/Ansible/Salt (preferred)

  • Experience with tools like Jira, GitHub, Artifactory, etc. (preferred)

  • Experience with building Jenkins/automated test frameworks

  • Experience working with containerized application systems such as Docker and Kubernetes

  • Skills in debugging complex distributed applications.

  • The candidate must be detail oriented, have superior verbal and written communication skills, strong organizational skills, able to juggle multiple tasks at once, able to work independently, respect differences and can maintain professionalism under various circumstances.
