The Opportunity
Nutanix is seeking a highly motivated and experienced finance leader to join our team as Director, FP&A – Portfolio Products. This is a high-impact and high-visibility role where you will lead the financial planning and strategic support for our product portfolio. You will partner closely with Product Management, Engineering, Go-to-Market, and Corporate Strategy teams to provide insights and drive data-driven decision-making across the organization.
In this role, you will own the end-to-end FP&A processes for our Portfolio Products, including financial planning, forecasting, performance management, product investment analysis, pricing strategy, and long-range planning. Your ability to deliver actionable insights, influence cross-functional partners, and drive strategic alignment will be key to your success.

Your Role
  • Lead the financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting processes for the full portfolio of Nutanix products.
  • Partner with General Managers, Product Management, Engineering, Corporate Strategy, and Go-to-Market teams to align financial planning with business priorities.
  • Drive profitability and product investment analysis, including ROI, unit economics, and cost optimization.
  • Develop and maintain dynamic financial models for scenario planning and strategic decision support.
  • Provide business case development for new product launches, lifecycle management, and portfolio rationalization.
  • Conduct pricing and monetization analysis; partner with the Pricing team to evaluate pricing strategies that align with business goals.
  • Support key initiatives with performance metrics, dashboards, and executive-level reporting.
  • Play a key role in executive communications, including board materials, investor presentations, and strategic reviews.

Focus Areas
  • Portfolio Profitability: Drive analysis to optimize product investments and assess cost-benefit of new initiatives.
  • Pricing & Monetization: Inform product pricing and monetization strategies through competitive benchmarking and internal analytics.
  • Strategic Product Finance: Be a trusted finance partner to Product and Strategy teams; support roadmap and long-range planning.
  • Performance Management: Build KPIs, dashboards, and financial reporting tools to track product performance and support decision-making.

What You Will Bring
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, strategic finance, or related roles, preferably in enterprise software, SaaS, or cloud-based businesses.
  • A proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and lead cross-functional initiatives in a matrixed organization.
  • Expertise in financial modeling, product economics, and pricing strategy.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to distill complex data into clear, actionable insights.
  • Strong business acumen, with a strategic mindset and attention to detail.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or related field; MBA or CFA preferred.
 
 
Work Arrangement 
Hybrid: This role operates in a hybrid capacity, blending the benefits of remote work with the advantages of in-person collaboration. For most roles, that will mean coming into an office a minimum of 3 days per week, however certain roles and/or teams may require more frequent in-office presence. Additional team-specific guidance and norms will be provided by your manager.
 
The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between USD $195,000 and USD $391,000 per year.
 
However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered.
