The Opportunity:
As an experienced, entrepreneurial Solutions Specialist, you will serve as the principal
technical authority in modernizing enterprise and desktop solutions across hybrid multi-
cloud environments. You will architect, validate, and execute high-availability desktop
solutions centered on Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) hybrid and public cloud bare-metal
infrastructure. Acting as a trusted advisor to enterprise CIOs, CTOs, and Cloud Directors, you will bridge the gap between cloud infrastructure engineering and end-user experience to deliver
secure, scalable, and cost-optimized ecosystems.

The successful candidate will join the Americas Solution Specialists & Systems
Engineering Organization at Nutanix—a forward-thinking group dedicated to solving
complex enterprise infrastructure, cloud, and AI workload challenges. We are part of a
mature, financially viable cloud software company that prides itself on bringing radical
simplicity to complex technology.
In this role, you will report to the Director, Solutions Specialists. The position is fully remote
within the United States, offering high flexibility, but requires the ability to travel up to 25%
including dedicated time doing customer discovery, architectural workshops, executive
briefings, and partner collaboration across the Americas.

Your Role:
As Solutions Specialist, you will act as a primary technical deal architect and domain
expert, driving pre-sales architecture, technical discovery, proof-of-concept (POC)
validations, and enterprise cloud and desktop modernization strategies.
• Domain Leadership & Enablement: Maintain authoritative, deep-dive expertise
across multiple Nutanix products like EUC, Nutanix Cloud Clusters (NC2), and the
broader ecosystem. Deliver cross-functional knowledge transfer to regional SEs,
sales teams, and channel partners.
• Technical Validation & Demonstrations: Lead advanced technical product
presentations, live demonstrations, hands-on Proof of Concepts (POCs), and
technical feasibility assessments for enterprise prospects.
• Strategic Discovery & Qualification: Drive deep technical discovery and qualify
opportunities for emerging technologies and enterprise cloud and desktop
modernization across enterprise, federal, and commercial accounts.
• Cross-Domain Solution Pairing: Collaborate closely with specialists across
Nutanix Enterprise AI (NAI), Nutanix Kubernetes Platform (NKP), and External
Storage to deliver full-stack solution architectures.
• Opportunity Expansion & Field Feedback: Identify portfolio expansion
opportunities within installed accounts, synthesize customer feedback, and partner
directly with Nutanix Product Management and Engineering to influence the product
roadmap.
• Workload Migration: Formulate zero-downtime migration paths for enterprise
desktop workloads into modern cloud desktop architectures.
• Disaster Recovery (DR): Establish automated disaster recovery strategies via
Nutanix Disaster Recovery and advanced cloud bursting methods.
• Storage & Profile Management: Implement enterprise profile management
strategies utilizing FSLogix, scalable file/block storage platforms, and Nutanix
Unified Storage (NUS).
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Develop automated deployment templates using
Terraform, PowerShell, and REST APIs to streamline NC2 cluster provisioning, host
pool scaling, and image management.
• Performance Validation: Lead technical discovery, capacity sizing, and
performance validation utilizing NVIDIA vGPU / RTX vWS acceleration to guarantee
an optimal user experience globally.
• Cloud Desktop Architecture: Design scalable, high-availability virtual desktop
solutions (AVD and hybrid desktop pools) bridging on-premises data centers and
public cloud bare-metal environments (Azure & AWS).
• Multi-Cloud Integration: Design cross-cloud network topologies, routing, and
identity frameworks connecting desktop host pools with enterprise back-end
application stacks.
• Ecosystem Alignment: Collaborate with Microsoft Azure and AWS technical field
teams to align cloud desktop deployments with enterprise consumption
agreements and marketplace commitments.
Technical & Architectural Experience
• Enterprise Architecture: Deep, proven experience in enterprise pre-sales systems
engineering, cloud consulting, or infrastructure architecture specializing in public
cloud VDI design.
• Cloud Desktop Mastery: Advanced, hands-on architectural experience with Azure
Virtual Desktop (AVD) in hybrid and pure-cloud models.
• Core Systems Control: Expert-level command of Microsoft FSLogix (Profile
Containers, App Attach), Entra ID, conditional access, and zero-trust security
architecture.
• Software-Defined Infrastructure: Strong experience extending infrastructure to
public clouds via Nutanix Cloud Clusters (NC2 on Azure/AWS), Nutanix Unified
Storage (NUS), AOS, AHV, and Prism Central.
Field & Pre-Sales Capability
• Experience: 5+ years of experience in a customer-facing pre-sales technical role
(Solutions Architect, Systems Engineer, or Specialist Architect) within an enterprise
software, cloud, or infrastructure organization. Prior experience in high-
performance computing (HPC) or graphic-intensive VDI environments.
• Consultative Selling: Proven track record of leading architectural design
workshops, executing successful POCs, answering RFIs/RFPs, and handling
complex technical objections from DBAs, Infrastructure Architects, and CXOs.
• Business Acumen: Ability to articulate enterprise cloud and desktop TCO, licensing
savings, operational efficiency gains, and risk reduction to senior IT leadership.
Soft Skills & Operational Requirements
• Communication: Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills; able to
translate intricate enterprise cloud and desktop engineering concepts into clear
business outcomes for non-technical stakeholders.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology,
Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience / industry certifications
(e.g., Nutanix NCP/NCA, AWS/Azure Solutions Architect, Oracle OCP, or Microsoft
SQL/PostgreSQL certifications).
• Travel Flexibility: Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% across the Americas
region as required for customer engagements, team offsites, and industry events.
