  • Design, and development software for the Nutanix Enterprise Cloud Platform. Design and develop services for providing distributed, scalable, secure, and easy-to-use Virtual Machine (VM) and AHV hypervisor control planes.
  • Develop a deep understanding of complex distributed systems and design innovative solutions for customer requirements
  • Work in multiple areas of the Acropolis Hypervisor (AHV) management, specifically focusing on Scheduler service. This component is largely responsible for scaling and managing compute resources;
    • Initial workload placement
    • Dynamic load balancing
    • Providing High Availability guarantees
    • VM mobility within and across clusters
  • Work alongside development, test, documentation, and product teams to deliver high-quality products in a fast pace environment


  • Love of programming and skilled in one of the following languages: Python, or Golang
  • Some understanding of operating systems and hypervisor concepts
  • Have taken courses or completed research in the areas of operating systems, files systems, compilers, algorithms and data structures, or cloud computing
  • Knowledge of or experience with Cassandra, Zookeeper, or other large scale distributed systems preferred
  • Interest or experience working with virtualization technologies from VMware, Microsoft (Hyper-V), or Redhat (KVM) preferred
  • Detailed oriented with strong focus on code and product quality
  • The passion & ability to learn new things, while never being satisfied with the status quo

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree: Bachelors, Masters, or PhD in Computer Science or related field.
  • 5-8+ years of overall experience in building and shipping production-grade code
