The Opportunity

Nutanix is seeking a talented QA Engineer to join our team and help drive innovation in the Foundation Central product. In this role, you’ll ensure that new features and capabilities meet our rigorous quality standards—providing customers with consistent, reliable deployment experiences across diverse environments. About the Team
Foundation Central is a critical component of Nutanix’s mission to simplify cloud infrastructure management. It enables customers to deploy Nutanix Cloud Infrastructure (NCI) nodes and clusters in a scalable, orchestrated manner—regardless of location, solution type, or hardware platform.
As customer needs evolve, Foundation Central continuously integrates support for new platforms and technologies, ensuring a seamless experience and delivering the features our users expect.
You’ll report to a Staff Engineer known for their collaborative and supportive leadership style. This manager fosters a culture of continuous learning and values every team member’s input. The role offers a hybrid work setup, with 2–3 in-office days per week to promote team engagement and collaboration.
Your Role
- Collaborate with software engineering and hardware delivery teams to validate Foundation Central support for new hardware platforms, technologies, and use cases.
- Design comprehensive test plans and develop automated tests for new Foundation Central features.
- Build and maintain diverse regression environments to ensure hardware/software compatibility across releases.
- Investigate test failures and customer-reported issues in partnership with developers and hardware vendors.
- Work in a geographically distributed team setup.
What You Will Bring
- BS or MS in Computer Science or a related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in software quality assurance.
- Proven experience testing enterprise-level software solutions.
- Strong skills in designing detailed test plans and developing manual and automated test cases.
- Proficiency in Python and Golang.
- Experience with RESTful APIs, gRPC, and microservices architectures.
- Solid understanding of Linux and hardware-related subsystems.
- Familiarity with x86 server architectures, storage, networking, or virtualization technologies.
- Excellent problem-solving and debugging abilities.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Work Arrangement
Hybrid: This role operates in a hybrid capacity, blending the benefits of remote work with the advantages of in-person collaboration. For most roles, that will mean coming into an office a minimum of 3 days per week, however certain roles and/or teams may require more frequent in-office presence. Additional team-specific guidance and norms will be provided by your manager.
The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between USD $124,800 and USD $249,600 per year.
However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
