Software Engineering Intern **Summer 2025 (Undergraduates - need ONLY apply)**
- Work closely with technical staff/leaders to design and create design documents.
- Depending on the team you're assigned, generate code that enhances product features and increases the speed and efficiency of the functionality of products.
- Our interns work across a range of teams and projects spanning a variety of technology areas, including, but not limited to:
- DRaaS/cloud – backend C++/Linux/web services/API design (HQ)
- DRaaS/hardware – backend C++/Linux/distributed systems (Durham)
- HX Product Integration-Systems QA – Python automation, file systems knowledge or object/block storage, systems analysis, QA testing (HQ)
- Product Integration-Systems QA - Python automation, Cloud, API, Linux (HQ)
- Product Integration-Systems QA - Python automation, AI, or container exposure (HQ)
- DevEx – backend Python, Java, or C++ proficiency/Linux/AI/ML, debugging background (HQ)
- Objects Storage – backend C++/Linux/objects storage or AWS S3 storage buckets (HQ)
- AHV/cloud – backend Go/Python/Linux/API design, distributed systems knowledge (HQ)
- Catalog/UI – backend Go/Python/Linux/containers (HQ)
- NCM - backend Go/C++, Python/exposure to Rest API, distributed systems (HQ)
- NDB - backend Go/Java/Python/distributed systems, Linux, and database internals (HQ)
- Platforms-Partners – backend Python/Linux/UX/UI knowledge to build a full-stack tool (HQ)
- You have taken two or more courses, preferably in distributed systems, operating systems, parallel programming/database systems, computing, or the fundamentals of computer Architecture. (review the Nutanix hyperlink below to see WHY these courses are needed)
- You are proficient in one or more of the following backend systems programming in the following languages: C++, Python, or Golang.
- Exposure to or projects related to one or more of the following systems: Cloud Infrastructure, Database Systems, File Systems, Object Storage Systems, Distributed Storage, or Open-Source Frameworks

- Online Technical Assessment: We review your foundational skills.
- Baseline coding skills assessment in the language of your choice
- First Round: Interview with one of our Talent Advisors to dive into your unique experiences and motivators.
- Second Round: Technical interviews with our hiring teams to showcase your skills.
- Students attending the second round should expect multiple interviews with Nutanix engineers designed to assess your technical skills and role readiness, motivation for the opportunity at Nutanix, and, when required, a pre-assignment aligned to the role you’ll be playing on our team. Each meeting will offer you an opportunity to ask questions and learn more about the team you’ll potentially work with.

Hybrid: This role operates in a hybrid capacity, blending the benefits of remote work with the advantages of in-person collaboration. For most roles, that will mean coming into an office a minimum of 2 - 3 days per week. However, specific roles and/or teams may require more frequent in-office presence. Your manager will provide additional team-specific guidance and norms.
