Job Description:
The Sales Director, responsible for leading a sales team of high touch commercial sales teams in Japan to cover public sector, mid-sized customers and also local partners, leads team to achieve strategic business objectives and sales numbers.


Responsibilities

  • Own sales quota of overall Japan commercial high touch sales, revenue targets and sales projections
  • Reports to Japan Country Manager, Corporate VP, and will be responsible for building and managing a team
  • Develop account plan and territory plan to cover overall Japan market based on their business and territory needs
  • Trains and coaches sales representatives to improve general sales and customer engaging skills
  • Partner with marketing team to ensure effective marketing strategy and high touch sales teams on high touch sales strategy
  • Ensures timely and accurate revenue, customer and management reports using in-house systems, evangelizing the use of SFDC for forecasting requirements and prospect tracking
  • Manages, mentor and ramp all account managers on the team as well as partner closely with System Engineering team
  • Works closely with Systems Engineers, Customer Success, Field Marketing, Professional Services, and Channel Management to ensure target quotas as achieved and exceeded
  • Travel up to 50%


Experience Required

  • Around 8+ years of managing sales teams in a fast paced, highly competitive, ever-changing sales environment
  • Extensive management capability with proven experience in interviewing, hiring, and building out high performance sales teams
  • Minimum of 10 years in quota carrying sales role with demonstrated achievement
  • Proven ability to work effectively with and across all levels of business and IT contacts within very large and complex organizations
  • Extensive experience negotiating large deals with extremely complex terms, conditions, price pressures and considerations
  • Self-starter who takes initiative, works with limited direction, and has experience with companies pursuing and undergoing rapid growth
  • Highly trusted individual who maintains and expect high standards for self and team
  • BA/BS degree or higher
