About the Team
The Systems Sales Engineer role will be part of the Client Engagement team at Nutanix, which operates primarily within the regions of Colorado, Iowa, and Nebraska. This team is known for its collaborative culture, where members actively support one another to achieve a common mission: delivering innovative solutions that address customer needs and enhance their business outcomes. By focusing on a workload rather than solely infrastructure, the team aims to positively impact customers and create synergy through shared knowledge and teamwork. The Client Engagement team fosters an environment that encourages continuous learning and open communication among its members, striving to be leaders in customer-centric solutions.
You will report to the System Engineer Manager, who emphasizes a collaborative approach to leadership and encourages team members to share insights and tackle challenges collectively. The manager values hands-on experience and enables a culture of learning, where new ideas are welcomed. The work setup for this role is remote, allowing flexibility in your day-to-day activities. While the position is primarily remote, you will be expected to travel to the office as needed for team gatherings and important meetings, though specific in-office days are not required.
The role involves regular travel primarily between Colorado, Iowa, and Nebraska approximately twice a month. This travel is essential to foster strong client relationships, conduct technical discussions, and collaborate with stakeholders effectively. The expectation is to be adaptable and ready to travel to meet the needs of clients and the team.
Your Role
- Engage in technical discussions with clients to understand their needs and present solutions.
- Collaborate with team members for knowledge sharing and project development.
- Assist in onboarding new hires and participate in training sessions.
- Elevate technical topics to connect with business objectives for CXO-level discussions.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
- Travel approximately twice a month to meet client needs.
- Obtain relevant certifications to enhance professional qualifications.
- Demonstrate growth in public speaking and negotiation skills within the first year.
What You Will Bring
- 5 to 10 years of experience in systems engineering or related field.
- Strong foundational knowledge of containers, microservices, and Kubernetes.
- Proficiency in automation tools such as Ansible and Terraform.
- Expertise in infrastructure management and storage solutions.
- Experience with databases and networking concepts.
- Excellent public speaking, relationship-building, and negotiation skills.
- Project management experience, demonstrating ability to lead initiatives.
- Knowledge of artificial intelligence (AI) is a plus.
The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between USD $195,920 and USD $293,880 per year.
However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
