Project Accountant 4
POSITION SUMMARY: Reporting to the Senior Project Accounting Manager, the Project Accountant 4 acts as technical and financial liaison between the Project Management team, Finance and Corporate Accounting to quantify estimates, budgets and time-phased cash flows for specific projects and then communicate the financial health of these projects to other departments.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide continuous improvement for the project accounting and cost reporting processes on projects, ensuring compliance with all internal controls and government account standards, including those for Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) and external regulations.
- Coordinate with the more senior project accountants, project managers, project controls and procurement stakeholders to perform project and contract set-up, time collection and project cost allocation analysis, project invoicing and forecasting in Oracle.
- Work with proposal and commercial teams to provide project review and direction on pricing for new contracts. Review contract and scope language for risk, profitability and margin to meet project financial goals. Review contracted work breakdown structures provided by the Project Management team to confirm appropriateness for both invoicing and revenue recognition. Set up new projects and contracts in the Oracle ERP systems as part of the project initiation process.
- Interface with project teams regarding change management issues to quantify and optimize project financial impacts and provide guidance to comply with company financial policies.
- As a primary user of the Project Portfolio Management (PPM) module in Oracle for projects, work towards becoming an expert in the organization’s information needs and meet those needs through data feeds and standard project processes.
- Provide guidance and mentoring to more junior-level Project Accountants.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND ABILITIES:
- Education: A minimum of a B.S. degree in Accounting is required.
- Experience: Minimum 5-10 years in a project accounting organization. The following skills and abilities are required:
- Detailed knowledge and experience with the functions of Oracle
- Demonstrated proficiency of accounting practices in a multi-project, multi-company environment adhering to SOX
- Detailed knowledge and understanding of US GAAP and FAR Part 31
- Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Ability to produce work with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and a proven ability to communicate with cross-functional teams
- Industry Requirements: Eligible to work under Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810.

Pay and Benefits:
The target pay range for this position is $111,105 - $134,093 annually. The full pay range is $99,611 - $155,803 annually.
