About the role:

Our client is a product strategy, design, and development agency that works side-by-side with ambitious companies, brands, and founders to execute their holistic approach to strategy, design, and engineering.

We are looking for a Cloud Data Integrations Engineer to support a major data platform re-architecture effort for a global consulting firm. This role focuses on the front end of the data lifecycle—ingesting, landing, and preparing data in the cloud—and requires strong adaptability to varying data sources, formats, and integration methods. You’ll work alongside cloud engineers and data engineers to help build a robust, flexible, and future-proof data Lakehouse.

Some of the main responsibilities for this role:
  • Design and implement flexible, scalable data ingestion pipelines for moving structured and unstructured data into cloud environments.
  • Develop and manage landing zones to ensure data is securely and accurately staged for further processing.
  • Work with varied data sources (APIs, databases, flat files, SaaS platforms, streaming data) and tailor integration strategies based on source-specific needs.
  • Handle metadata enrichment, manipulation, profiling, and scanning to support data classification and downstream processing.
  • Collaborate with data engineers to ensure seamless handoff from ingestion to transformation layers.
  • Support logging, monitoring, and governance processes around data movement and integration workflows.
  • Leverage tools such as Databricks for processing, orchestration, and data validation.

Job Skills/Requirements
- +90% English written and oral (at least B2 level) with excellent communication skills
- 3–5+ years of experience in cloud data integration, ingestion engineering, or a similar role.
- Proven experience working with cloud-native data pipelines and integration tooling across platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Deep understanding of data landing zones, ingestion patterns (batch, real-time), and orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, ADF, Glue, etc.).
- Familiarity with metadata management and tools/practices to ensure traceability, scanning, and profiling of ingested data.
- Proficient in SQL and scripting languages such as Python.
- Hands-on experience with Databricks and Delta Lake.
- Ability to work across different integration paradigms with flexibility depending on source systems and client requirements.

Nice-to-Have
- Deep familiarity with the Bronze layer of the medallion architecture (raw data ingestion and structuring in Databricks).
- Experience in enterprise environments with complex data ecosystems and governance requirements.
- Exposure to data classification, lineage, and security tagging during ingestion.
