Role Summary

NTT Global Networks is seeking a Wireless Network Architect for our Product Engineering team.  The focus will be on product evaluations, developing design guidelines, reference architecture development and assisting with productizing our Private 5G/LTE Network service offering.  This will include working on multiple projects with enterprise clients in different verticals supporting private wireless network integration projects (including 4G LTE, 5G, IoT/LPWA and WiFi), working on systems design and integration projects supporting RF designs (RFDS), RF performance optimizations and customer implementations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Primarily responsible for the research, development, hands-on integration, and evaluation of early-stage Wireless Radio Access Networks (RAN) related infrastructure and products.
  • Lead development of our managed enterprise Private 5G/LTE projects
  • Collaborate with the Engineering and Product Development organizations, operational teams, and installation crews.
  • Drive proof of concept solutions with focus on enterprise private wireless networks and next generation end-to-end applications.
  • Leverage understanding of wireless service provider architectures to assist the Sales teams as needed.
  • Design and validate customer Private 5G/LTE networks to support pre-sales activities.
  • Generating quality high-level design documentation that reflects the private wireless network design requirements to meet customer expectations.
  • Organize and present wireless network designs and cost estimates in support of business cases and proposals.
  • Organize and present vendor technology comparisons to the product development teams.
  • Collaborate with our internal Systems teams to integrate new wireless vendor technologies with backend systems including NMS, provisioning, and automation systems.
  • Familiarity with RF troubleshooting software and hardware.
  • Provide internal training of private wireless network solutions to service delivery and operational support centers.


Job Requirements

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent program).
  • Minimum 10+ years of progressive experience on wireless networks including cellular networks (4G/5G), and WiFi networks
  • Excellent knowledge of enterprise WAN and LAN architectures
  • Excellent knowledge of enterprise Wireless LAN network architectures
  • Experience with Self Optimizing Network (SON) deployments and operations.
  • Knowledge and experience in service provider network architecture design, cloud network architecture design, and enterprise LAN architecture design to include wireless LANs
  • Strong technology expertise, proven leadership skills, excellent written and oral communication skills, superb technical skills, and strong customer facing expertise.
  • Operational experience of RF design focusing on traffic engineering and coverage designs.
  • Proven hands-on expertise in setup and configuration of LTE networks (RAN and Core) with industry leading equipment vendors and service providers.
  • Ability to lead troubleshooting sessions (lab and field issues) and guide junior and senior team members in debugging sessions.
  • Hands-on knowledge of LTE small cells, CBRS, mMIMO and familiar with 5G architecture, with a clear track record of managing wireless access engineering systems.
  • Knowledge of Radio Access Network technologies, such as O-RAN
  • Advanced hands-on experience with UE acceptance criteria.
  • Working knowledge of IP networks and technologies such as IP addressing, VLAN’s, QoS, routing, and switching.


Additional Requirements:

  • Willingness and ability to conduct and attend meetings and field communication outside of normal working hours to accommodate teams based internationally, as needed
  • Ability to work effectively with clients, senior management, staff, and vendors
  • Previous experience working with/presenting to an executive audience
  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills required 
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills required
Estimated Minimum Salary - $125K
