Description

 

The Director of Service Delivery and Implementation must be very well rounded to provide overall leadership, direction and management to the service delivery organization which is responsible for the physical and logical implementation of new customer orders.   This person must have extensive experience with WAN device logical configurations, routing protocols, Internet Service Provider routing configurations, and security best practices. While technical skills are very important and an absolute requirement, the ability to be assertive and lead large groups on challenging issues and projects is just as important. This person must be open and available to the possibility of resolving issues outside normal working hours, seven days a week.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Conceptualize and work with other organizations to automate tasks improving efficiency and accuracy
  • Manage groups of network engineers, security engineers, project managers, circuit provisioning group, and logistics.
  • Work with customers to implement and turn-up new services, while also addressing any customer concerns and issues
  • Communicate and coordinate network and security service installations with customers, suppliers and internal personnel
  • Create, maintain, and enforce all processes and procedures for the service delivery organization
  • Foster teamwork across various groups within the company and within the service delivery organization.
  • Provide detailed statistics on the performance of the team and provide solutions to better their performance to the executive staff.

     

 Required Skills and Experience

 

  • Must have 10+ years of experience with providing enterprise customer managed network and security services (managed IP, router, firewall, etc.).
  • Extensive technical skills (10+ years) in the Internet industry and in customer service, implementations, NOC, IP Operations, IP Engineering, and IP Architecture fields.
  • 6-10 years of management experience with a dozen direct reports including writing annual evaluations.
  • Must be familiar with the logical configuration of Cisco routers and routing protocols (BGP and OSPF).
  • Technical Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred).
  • A professional or expert level Cisco certification a plus (CCNP, CCDP, CCIP, CCNP, CCSP, CCDE, CCIE)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

 

Additional Requirements

 

  • BS Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Prior experience managing global teams that provide 24/7 support to clients and customers.
  • Willingness and ability to conduct meetings and field communication outside of normal working hours to accommodate teams based internationally, as needed.
  • Ability to work effectively with clients, senior management, staff and vendors.
  • Previous experience working with/presenting to an executive audience.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills required.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills required.

 

 

Estimated Salary Range: $160K - $180K
