What you will do

As an AI Platform Engineer, you will help build, stabilize, and evolve NRC Health’s production AI platform under the leadership of the Senior AI Platform Lead. In the near term, you will play a hands-on role in transitioning AI capabilities from an external vendor to full internal ownership. Over time, you will partner with product engineering teams to enable safe, scalable, and governed AI-powered features across NRC Health’s portfolio.

You will contribute directly to LLM-based application systems, platform reliability, and responsible AI implementation, ensuring our AI solutions remain reliable, observable, and ready to scale.

 

What you need

  • 4+ years of software engineering experience building and operating production systems
  • Hands-on experience developing or supporting LLM-based systems (e.g., RAG pipelines, orchestration layers, inference services)
  • Familiarity with model lifecycle concepts, including evaluation, deployment, monitoring, and regression testing
  • Experience building scalable backend or platform systems
  • Experience working with AWS ecosystem
  • Comfort working in collaborative, cross-functional engineering environments
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on production reliability and operational excellence

 

Nice to have

  • Experience working in regulated or high-trust environments
  • Experience with modern data platforms (e.g., Snowflake)
  • Experience contributing to shared internal platforms or developer tooling
     

Compensation

In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share the base salary range for this position is $132,480-$178,848, exclusive of fringe benefits or potential bonuses. If you are hired at NRC Health, your final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as skills, education, and/or experience. In addition to those factors – we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is the full base salary range for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future and continued salary growth. We also offer a generous compensation and benefits package. NRC Health is not currently hiring in DE, HI, MD, NJ, RI, D.C. While this position may allow for a work from home environment, preferred candidates live in the Seattle, WA and surrounding areas.
