We’re looking for a highly motivated Sr Business Analyst to join our growing Novo Insurance team. As the Sr Business Analyst, you will be acting as product manager bridging between Insurance Product Management and Engineering by understanding the product requirements from business and create executable Jira stories for engineering, Plan Policy and Bolling roadmap, and support business to implement new features that help grow and engage Novo users. As part of this role, you work with cross-functional teams of engineers, designers, data scientists, operations, product marketing and researchers to build products.  

Responsibilities: 

  • Demonstrated ability to engage key stakeholders to understand the business vision and strategy, business problems/opportunities in defining implementable business requirements including functional, usability, data and business rules 

  • Experienced in driving requirements management life cycle including conducting business analysis, requirements elicitation, gap analysis, feasibility study, documentation, prioritization, reviews, approvals, traceability, and maintainability /re-use and change management etc 

  • Guide the team through the Solution and, technical development, and deliver a working system per the defined requirements, leading to delightful customer experience.  

  • Create processes to effectively execute and deliver technical implementation on time and with high quality. 

  • Act as a scrum master to monitor the development progress, clarifying the requirements, mitigating the risks timely and regularly updating the status back to stakeholders. 

  • Maximize efficiency in a constantly evolving environment where the process is fluid and creative/evolutionary solutions are the norm.  

  • Run user acceptance testing to ensure features delivered by tech team meets the business objectives. 

  • Provide product expertiseto marketing and other outbound activities as required.  

Required Experience: 

  • 10+ years of experience in gathering requirements from business and key stakeholders, and translating them to functional requirements to development teams. 

  • insurance, technical or business product management (from business case development to analytics driven feature/experience development)   

  • 3+ years of experience with Duck creek insurance platform or similar and have deeper knowledge on various components of Insurance platform. 

  • Must have Prior Experience on rolling out personal auto insurance to new states from inception to launch, with a good understanding of state-to-state regulations. 

  • 5+ years of auto insurance industry experience with deep understanding of both legacy auto insurance products and insure-tech products.   

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to quickly absorb user needs, technical concepts and effectively simplify and communicate them to a non-technical audience.  

  • Proven ability to evaluate user experience trends, modern technologies, articulate customer insights, test, learn, and make clear, data insights driven recommendations.  

  • Process Driven with discipline, who demonstrates attention to detail and the ability & willingness to adopt to changing priorities. 

  • BA/BS in Information Systems, Business Administration Engineering or equivalent experience.
